I just wanted to post a high recommendation to anyone looking for a reputable restoration shop that SPECIALIZES in Pontiac restorations.
In the winter of 2004, I purchased my 1966 GTO hardtop as a roller. While being a solid car, it had many issues (as almost all of them do that have lived their lives in the lovely salt belt states) but was definately the car for me. My 1966 Pontiac GTO is currently undergoing a complete frame off "restification" of sorts at FAST Automotive in Batesville, Indiana.
I purchased my car from a friend of the owner, Paul Freese, who is in my opinion a walking bible of all things Pontiac, especially A-bodies.
I originally bought the car with hopes of simply having the rough areas repaired, installing a decent drivetrain and having a nice driver quality car. When I changed gears to the full blown rotisserie style restoration that is currently underway, Paul was more than happy to help. He has always been my personal source of Pontiac knowledge, and when he opened up his own shop a few years ago to do this professionally, it was a decision that can only benefit anyone in this hobby who is in need of someone like Paul.
He has many years of experience in the automotive industry as an ASE Master Technician, and has a full staff of employees that are capable of doing anything from routine maitenance to full blown restorations.
Paul has done work for me in the past and I have always been happy, but this is the first restoration I have ever considered of this magnitude, and I couldn't be happier with the progress being made on my car. I completely feel safe with all of the decisions and work made so far.
He also is currently restoring in his shop a 63 Corvette Stingray convertible (the only non-Pontiac), a '67 GTO H.O. convertible, two '65 GTO convertibles, a '69 RA3 Judge hardtop, a '69 RA4 Judge hardtop, a '70 GTO convertible, and not to mention his own cars to do (a '68 GTO convertible, a '69 RA3 Judge hardtop, and a '70 GTO hardtop).
Paul is a full service shop and his rates are as competitive as they come. I highly recommend anyone who is considering a restoration of any scale to contact this shop. Wether you need to ask a Pontiac question, or wish to have work done, Paul is the best there is.
