Don Krebs in Ohio

This guy has advertised on E-bay for various items. Does anyone know anything about him or his reputation? Any input is appreciated.

I posted the above trying to get some input on this guy. He operates on E-bay with the user ID: "Krebbon".

I did not purchase my item off of E-bay from him, but that is where I first saw his offering for a tilt steering column for my '67 GTO. I contacted him directly via e-mail and asked several questions about the details of what he had to offer.

After getting answers to my satisfaction, we came to an agreement of $520.00 for the column shipped and insured. I asked about and was advised before I paid that shipment would be seven days from receipt of payment. I submitted payment via Paypal on 03 Feb. Payment has been confirmed.

On 09 Feb I sent an e-mail inquiring when the column was to ship. His reply e-mail said it would ship on 16 Feb. I told him that I wanted the column to ship on 10 Feb (per his committment) or give my money back. I am putting my car together and this is a hold up. So far I have gotten no response to any of my e-mails. Even if it shipped on the 16th, I should have it by now. Does anyone know where I can find this personality?

Thanks Brian, it does sound like to he overextends himself, but finally comes through after about a month of waiting. I hope this will be the situation in my case.

I know that he lied to me, and it was not an accident. He had deceit in mind from the outset. Has anyone else had any dealings with him? Does anyone know exactly where he is located? I know he said that he would be at Carlisle this year.

I fired a shot of annoyance across the bow of Don Krebs on this board, so I now want to be fair with Don about the end result.

I received my tilt steering column, and it is a first class piece of work. It was very robustly packaged to protect it from any damage in shipping. It was a couple of weeks late based on his agreement, and this caused me aggravating delays in getting my car back together.

Having said all of this, based on the quality, I would do business with him again, and I think he now understands my idiosyncracy about adherence to committment.

Hi, I had a customer of mine call looking for parts to repair a column he bought from Don Krebs. He had asked him to take care of the problem, Krebs told him to go away. He waited 7 weeks after he sent his payment before he recieved his junk column. He paid for a 70 Chevelle 4 speed column, What he got was a 1976 a body column with the column shift lever cut off and filled with bondo, the upper housing was cracked, only to find out he glued a piece in where it was broken out. The column had a broken directional switch, no directional lever and the wrong tilt lever. and the best for last, the back drive lever was hand made, I can only asume by a blind person. Ok now the money, he paid over 300.00 for this column and bought 70.00 worth of parts to fix it and then decided to throw in the towl. The answer , I gave him a 100.00 for his column in trade, I felt sorry for him,and a 70.00 refund on the parts he purchased. and sold him a correct rebuilt column for his car. Don't measure quality by price, Quality is priceless. In the future let me know I would be happy to help you with this type of situation before you spend your money. Buy the way that goes for any column wether you buy it from me or not, Chuck
