No news to old members, just a heads up to any newbies here to look out for Bruce Fulper, not what he seems, do a search on this site if you need any more info. As someone personally shafted by this man it's my duty to keep new guys informed. Cheers.

I don't think he is, other than in his own mind! you notice he has never put together another car for NHRA. Remember, He won class at Indy, of course he got beat first round in eliminations though, imangine that!

He'll be riding that accomplishment for the rest of his life. One is a lonely number.

I took a few minutes to look over his web site . . . . quite impressive, he's certainly not shy about tooting his own horn.

Without scrolling through a bunch of previous posts, could you guys be a little more specific, and explain just exactly what the problem is with this guy?

Is he a cheat, does he do crappy work, is he a liar, etc. etc.?

I'd like to use this as a learning opportunity . . .

I bought parts from Bruce back in `97.He sold me E-heads,roller cam and related valvetrain,Je pistons,2"Heddman hedders, and some smaller items.
I followed Bruces instructions for degreeing the cam,and other adjustments;and you know what the car ended up running???
12.01!!!!!!!!!!Pretty sad,considering thats what I ran before with a hydraulic cam,small headers,unported heads;you get the idea.
I would e-mail him for recomendations, and he would change his story every time!
We finally got the car to run high tens, with absolutely no help from Bruce. It was with help from people from this and other websites.
Any time I talk to an engine builder, and told them who did my heads, they tell me they can make me run quicker, cause my heads are prolly not much better than stock!!
Like I said before,Bruce sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My brother was offered use of one of his engines for his race car, in turn for advertisment on his car , then after thinking long and hard about it he turned him down.

I am neither a supporter or detractor of Mr. Fulper. That said, check this out:

All of the above statements may be true, but if they cannot be proven in a court of law, they could be considered libel. The owners of this board could be held responsible. I would hate to see that happen.

That's what I'm saying! FWIW slander is oral, libel is written.

It's not slander if it's true.

Rock and Roll built me a 455 in 2000. It took longer than promised. When i got it in my car, the water pump leaked. Fulper said 'I didn't build the pump I only sell it'. The motor dieseled badly after i'd shut it off; i got in the habit of letting the clutch out as i killed it to stop it. Fulper said 'it didn't do that on the dyno'. I conclude he never dyno'd it... how can you dyno a motor with coolant pouring out the front? It later broke 2 rocker arm studs. On a trip from New Mexico home to Colorado, i was pulling over evey 30 miles or so to straighten bent pushrods. That really sucked... on the side of the road with pushrods and a rock.

Interestingly, an original 1965 326 pushrod has worked flawlessly since then, it was the right length to work with the hyd roller cam.

John,

It's only libel if it can be proven to be false in a court of law.

I don't see where anyone has said anything thus far that can be proven false beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Straightening pushrods on the side of the road with a rock?

Come on now...you don't expect anyone to believe that, do you?

I respectfully disagree Brian. The burden of proof in a libel case rests with the defendant. The law presumes in the plaintiff's favour that the libelous statements are false, unless and until the defendant proves the contrary.

Where are you Frank (racerboy)?

whatever dude, that's what i did. the motor started clattering so i pulled over and figured out it was the valvetrain. i pulled a valve cover and found a broken guideplate and a bent pushrod. i put it on the ground and hit it with a *ROCK* until i got it as straight as i could. back together and on the road... only once bent that pushrod had a hard time staying straight and about every 30 miles it would happen again. so i'd pull over and bend it back. i found exceeding 2500 rpm was a bad idea. i stopped 4 times between Trinidad and Golden CO to do this. and no, i wasn't in Trinidad for a sex change.

I will help anybody prove every word that is said on this board about Bruce. My case is well documented and a judgement was awarded. Bruce has had many opportunities to sue people. Fraud is fraud. It is hard to slander a fraud.

I think that you are misunderstanding my intentions here. I don't give a flying rats a$$ about Bruce. I'm not trying to defend him in any way. I just don't want to see him pull some crap and get this board shutdown.

I'm glad things worked out for you, in being awarded a judgement. I'm glad to see the system works in some cases.

John is correct in some regard that there is more of a burden upon the defendent to show that the comments are true. But they only have to prove them true as a defense. But the plaintiff also has to show a few things to prove libel. They have to prove that the comments were defarmatory against their reputation, the comments are false and that the defendent is at fault for all of this. PY has absolutely nothing to worry about with this one.

Maybe Andy M. should look at sueing him. On The big F`s website he basically calls Andy a theif.

Had to chime in on this one. I am a far cry from an expert engine assembler, but I have put a couple of them together. With that being said I ordered a custom cam from "the pontiac expert," when it arrived I wasn't reasy to insall it right away so I shelved it for awhile. When I took it out to install it I thought it looked a little bit unusual. when I called Comp and asked about the part number they told me it was for a "FORD!" The "Expert" sent me a ford cam, unbelievable. Now, he did take it back and made it right but what kind of a pontiac guy mistakes a ford for a pontiac cam?

I doubt PY has received any cease and desist letters yet. If Mr. Fulper wants to pursue an action against any of the individuals who he claims have "maligned" him, he should tread with due caution as truth is an absolute defense. Also, another possible defense is that what has been said is merely opinion, and not statements of fact.

Libel is not a crime, so the the burden of proof would be by a preponderance of the evidence, not beyond a reasonable doubt.
