a warning post for my fellow listers:

avoid doing (or trying) to do any business with "pontiacmuscle", aka josh.
the guy strung me along with a series of lies and BS for 2 months about buying parts he never followed through with.
after promising the money'd been sent multiple occasions, excuses, stories about them being for someone else, etc - the guy is just full of crapola.

Sound like you need to send him a "special" batch of chocolate chip cookies (made with Exlax, and yes it does work) if he's that full of Crapola. :cool2:

Wish I were 15 years younger. We could get together and pay him a visit. teach him a little old school educating. Ken

There are multiple posts to the contrary of what Mike has said and I will say when it takes someone almost 3 weeks to get me a weight and package size as well as a mailing address....talk about playing games.
I fully intended to buy the wheels from Mike but had other things happen which I told Mike and didnt have the $$ as I anticipated. I didnt intend nor realize it had been that long and I explained myself and apologized.
Also PM'd him and let him know I had other things come up (moving) and to sell them to the next person in line as he claimed he had multiple buyers and all of a sudden they vanish......He had many opputunities to sell to someone else and gave him the out more than once.

Ive been a member of this board for quite some time and have bought and sold parts with much success and satisfaction. Do all deals go as planned? No.
Can I make everyone happy all the time? No. Do I try like hell for the members of this forum as well as myself? Yes Sir.
Do a search for Pontiacmuscle....read what other people wrote and judge for yourself.

If anyone really feels the need to "pay me a visit" most of the people on the forum know where I live and if your intentions are less than honorable; be prepared for a less than warm reception. Scared of Keyboard Cowboys I am Not.

Rob B and snakepod, have you had any dealings with Josh or are you just looking for additional posts? I've dealt with him and everyhting went fine.
Shoot, I couldnt load up all the good stuff he was trying to GIVE me. I did take the T/A hood and shaker scoop, thank you very much.

Mike, I hope all works out beween you guys. Josh is a Pontiac guy and is not out to cause trouble, I can assure you that.

BTW, I inquired about the tranny, but cant get it right now, due to too many projects going on.

Mike seems like a good guy too, so maybe just some miscommunication.

Don't know what may have gone wrong between you guys, but I have had multiple dealings with Josh and always came away very happy. Hope it all works out.

Josh and I tried to work out a deal with a car that I had a year or so ago. Although we could not make it happen in the end, I always found Josh to be quite pleasant to deal with on the phone. I got the impression that he was a good family man and complete Pontiac nut!

I understand the original poster's disappointment if a deal did not work out, and don't question his entitlement to his feelings. But, in my experience, Josh is not the type of person who needs a "visit" paid to him. There are plenty of those a-hole types out there, but he isn't one of them.

It seems that I owe Pontiacmuscle an apology. For the record, I have not had any bad transactions or any transactions with him. My post was written "tongue-in-cheek" . Similar to sending Ex-Lax laced cookies, I kind of figured that this would be taken with a grain of salt. I've known Speedshop Mike since we were in elementary school, but havent seen him in years. My post was more to support Mike, than anything else. Looking back on the content, I likely should not have posted it. If you really read the post, there is no mention of actually going to pay anyone a visit. Sorry for the confusion, and again, an apology to Pontiac Muscle. Ken

Ken, you sound like a stand up guy, and we now know you were coming from a benign place. All's well as far as I am concerned (though I am not really directly involved here).

whoa, ken, hey old man.!!
i hadnt been following this thread at all after i posted originally that josh is a liar.
facts are that he didnt honor a commitment he made and reinforced multiple times over a long period of time, and i stand by what i said.
i'd never deal with him again, nice guy or not.
a man does what he says he'll do.
don't make promises you clearly can't or don't intend to keep.
apologizing doesn't make anything right, josh.
was it a surprise you were moving or having a kid?
only if you're living on mars and not getting radio transmissions.
if anyone really cares, i have all the Pm's and emails plainly proving the real deal.

hope life's good for you down there, kenny.
how's the doctoring going?
how are jeff and gary?
btw, folks, as of the last time i physically saw ken, about 3 years ago, i'd not wanna cross him!
and, he is not psycho and i'm sure as well he meant no harm.

Thanks for the Apology Ken'
Mike I could really care less what you think; Im not a liar and have proven that FACT many times over as well as many members of this forum (Thanks Guys); I originally intended to complete the transaction but had other things that had to come first and I let you know. You want to keep your panties in a twist about me not completing the transaction; thats your right as well as your feelings.
The 15x8 snowflakes you have look pretty nice and are in demand; if you spent as much time advertising them as you have attemting to bash me; they 'd been sold 10x over by now.
Sometoimes things dont work out...most people try to be flexible and roll with the punches...you want to hold a grudge; thats your right too, just remember pal; life is short,,,,make of it what you will.

As far as anyone being on a certain planet....we all know your just worried about Uranus :))

youre a proven liar josh, but im not gonna waste any more time on this thread.
im glad things were nice with your other deals and am not bashing you; i was and am warning others, no more, no less.
you did what you did, you know the truth, then you threatened me in your last PM.
all i did was stupidly believe your empty promises.
grow up and learn to be a man.
my panties are both untwisted and lacy.

For someone that doesnt want to waste anymore time with this thread you seem to do an awful lot of it. Talk about lieing Mike....I NEVER threatened anyone, keeping digging yourself a hole.
I believe the last PM I even sent you was the one explaining why I couldnt by the wheels. The only thing I proved is that sometimes deals dont go as expected or planned. Im no liar;Ive proven that, guilty of poor planning....that I'll agree with. And as far as me being a Man...step back, open your eyes and see what a real man looks like; I've proven that as well.

speedshopmike
05-18-2006, 12:57 PM
actually, josh, the last pm you sent said " dont flame me or i'll flame you back.
if you force me to be an ass, i will be".

ring a bell?
what about a hole being dug?

Pontiacmuscle

Thats Right....I do remember saying that and I stand behind it now as I did then; the truth will win everytime Mike as it has in this case. Expect the same that you give; nothing more, nothing less. Same goes with Life; figured you'd know this. Enuff Said.

apology accepted.....just dont do it again or we'll make you stand in the corner. :)
I have to say Thanks to you Mile for the publicity and the entertainment; Im sure Im not the only member of PY thats been mildly amused by our jousting.
Its kind of ironic....you say to avoid me and yet all you do is respond to my posting.

no apology was offered.
i'm warning others to avoid you.
personally, i find you immensely attractive and can't stay away.

Mike, I'm not really sure what went down with your deal with Josh but I'm going to add myself to the "satisfied deals with Josh" pile. A few months ago Josh went way above and beyond when getting me some parts, even so far as to take a part off his project car because the one on his parts car was too rough. To make note of my great pleasure I created a thread (http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472029) thanking him.

So, I'm sorry you had a bad experience and I don't want to suggest that it might be a problem on your end (since everyone else seems to have had great experience with Josh) but maybe?

Also, let this thread not discourage people from posting threads about bad experiences with people, it's very important that we know who sucks to deal with, however I can tell you from experience that Josh was a great guy to deal with.

speedshopmike
05-26-2006, 03:39 AM
matt,
what went down is josh is a really pleasant fella who didnt meet repeated promises and assurances from him, in writing, several times over, money was sent, while i held parts for well over a month, and lost other interested parties while he was saying over and over the money's coming, they're for someone else, i have to sell 2 cars first, etc.
now says moving into new house prevented purchase and guilty of "bad planning" - crap. guilty of not stepping up and telling the truth and bowing out.

now he's spouting all this bs about "the truth" while actually saying nothing and attacking me, when i've done nothing but trust the jerk and get screwed for it.

i dont care if you or anyone else had good dealings with him beyond i'm glad it worked out for you.
i'll never trust him.
it's not the measly 200 bucks that he obviously couldnt come up with, it's the ongoing pleas to hold them, the excuses, the flat out lies, the doubletalk bs threats, and general principle.

you or anyone else can and will do as you wish, and that's anyone's own free choice of free will - yay for the usa.
i can tell you from experience josh was a zero to deal with.
i'm happy to give benefit of the doubt and say i dont feel he did anything out of malice or ill will regarding my orginal point, but it is what it is aside from that.

Wow...All this over lil' ole' me....Mike I know youve said that my words dont mean a thing to you and thats fine; I can respect that.
I will reitterate for everyone including you(again-and its the truth as it has been before); I did fully intend to buy those wheels from you and I did really want them but as Ive stated in earlier posts on this thread; I did flub the deal mainly due to things that kept coming up that I had to spend the "wheel" $ on. I dont believe theres any dispute that I screwed things up...I apologized....not really much more i can do and was heartfelt despie what you may think. I'm not a lier nor will I ever be.
The thing that really pissed me off was after I honestlyy told you the situation and apologized (again) you insisted on threatening to "tell evryone on PY" about it....and making a mountain out of a mole hill which is why I said what i said to you....I was more pissed off than anything because Ive had nothing but good things said about me here and elsewhere on the web(and will continure to) and you have to throw a typewritten 'Temper Tantrum" for all to read. If thats what it takes to make your day more power to you Mike.
I will say "Thanks Again" as theres No Such Thing As Bad Publicity.
There is Nothing To Bow Out To in my opinion.....Its much ado about nothing as they say...we've hashed and rehashed this and its been done to death.
Im finished with your negativity and would like to thank Matt and everyone else for reading and chiming in about the Positive experiences they've had with me; which I know gets those fishnets of yours in a knot Mike but Get Used to It...Im Going To Keep Making People Happy finding them the partz they need and making a small part of their rolling artform come to life.
I wish you no Ill will Mike and hope you can find it within yourself to let it go; things dont get any more done than this....time to stick the fork in 'er Jeb.
I hope you have a Great Weekend and Spend Some Time R-E-L-A-X-I-N-G which is what Im gonna do...Cheers!
....One More Thing......I think its great you finally came out of the closet and let everyone know how you feel and I will say that Im flattered and its not easy being wanted by the Guys AND the Ladies but I pull it off in fine style. Im still gonna be here for ya bro' if the drag queen thing dosent work out and you need a hug after being rejected from the Villiage People Revival Group. You still have the Pee-Wee Herman Fan Club to fall back on.Happy Memorial Day!

Josh is a good guy. I have dealt with him and he went out of his way to meet me at a mid-point to pick up an engine block. Brought his pregnant wife and all!!
One more thing... his prices are fair - not inflated like some here. If you know what I mean, speedshopmike.
