455 olds in 68 lemans

hi parts car convertible i just bought came with what i believe is a 71 455 olds motor. does anyone know anything about olds motors identification? maybe a web site? there are numbers in front very clear and on heads but i have no way to look them up. also would like to sell motor if anyone out there is into oldsmobile. thanks for any help
