I know this is kind of an odd combo, but I have a 400 that runs really hard and I am in the process of bringing this '56 back to life(my father bought this car the first time 35 years ago). I think this will be a pretty cool combo when finished and was just wondering if anyone had ever tried anything like this before. I'm going to try this with as little modification to the firewall as possible. Any tips, suggestions, whatever would be appreciated.
Thanks

I put a 462 into a Canadian 55 Pontiac which has the same firewall as the chevy. Made my own mounts etc. Head fits tight to the dr side with a huge gap on the pass side. Looks sorta goofy but.... I had cut the original firewall to set the motor back but didn't like the results so I welded the section back in. To do it again I would look for a American firewall or do a custom so I could set the motor further back. Alan
