redneck converters went bad?

The converters center snout has runout,dam it why me!Iv'e only heard good comments about this company,so I figured I give them some cash for a 9 1/2 3000 stall.I was also changing out the cam to a solid roller so I had the motor out .Go to install ,everything went well until I begun to hook up the converter.The converters snout won't center up to the crank.When spinning converter by hand it spins freely then scrubbs.I can't use it ,it will damage my crank and trans pump.I will give RedNeck a chance to make good on this deal.

Any company can turn out a bad item or two, or maybe this one was damaged in shipping. I'd think if this was common that we'd be hearing more about it. Hopefully this isn't a sign that their quality control is slipping.

The most important thing at this point will be how they handle the situation. A good company won't give you any flack, they'll take the damaged converter back.

I don't think you will have a problem. I bought one over EBay. It was too tight slipping onto the input gear. I called them and they sent me another and told me to ship the old one back in the same box and use the pre-paid shipping lable in the box. They folllowed up with a call about a month afterwards.

They treated me well and rainchecked me a price for their 3500 converter. I haven't raced my car yet but I've had no problems "playing" with mine. I think they'll rectify this with no problems. Good luck!!

I followed the Redneck brand converters for almost three years before I bought one. Your experience was the first negative thread I've found at over 7 different websites in 3 years. I will bet they will make it right. JD

EDIT: I would say from this post in the Street forum made by joes455 on 6/7/07 that the converter must have been either fixed or had no defect, in this post joes455 stated that the car was racing at the track with a Redneck converter.http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2932951&postcount=43

The forum members will want to know how the issue was resolved, after all any thread started for the sole purpose of announcing a product defect should have a follow-up posted in all fairness to the company named here. Otherwise the thread should not have been started in the first place.

I'm actually digging my Redneck 3500 ,Yea... it's a little "mushy" compared to the "Hand Special" that it replaced. But for a street/strip ride ... when you stab the pedal it's like dumping the clutch & low speed cruising is enjoyable:)

The redneck converter did eventually fit ,although it was a tight fit,Why I have no clue could have been paint,or operator error.Working good so far,no sign of vibrations or increased clearance at the thrust bearing.I want to thank b-man for shining the light to this claim I made a while back, so I could make it right.
