View Full Version : DINO1 "Not a man of his word"

I really hate to rip a member, but this DINO1 guy has got me a little p-off. I bought a set of ARP head studs from him for $70. When I got them the side of the box was ripped open and several washers and nuts where missing. It seems the smart guy thought he could just put some Scotch tape on the original ARP stud box and ship that out. Not sure why he just didn't put that box in a bigger box??? I sent an email saying what happened and he said he check in to it. In the mean time I started doing some research on where I could get some new nuts and washers. I ended up buying a set of 10 washers and 10 nuts from Summit and Jegs (Summit was out of washer) and a cost of $20 for both. I sent DINO1 another email saying this and he responded by saying he'd cover the cost. I told him to just send me $10, that he only needed to cover the ones that where missing and not to worry about the handling fee. He agreed and said he take care of it. That was 6-7 weeks ago and he won't return any emails. I know it's only $10, but it's the principle of it, he said he pay for the parts and didn't or won't. I'll probably bump this a few times just to make sure DINO1 see's it and that everybody else knows DINO1 IS NOT A MAN OF HIS WORD so buyer beware! :mad:

It was Fed Ex, I called them and told them what happened. Them said I could file a claim, but DINO1 said it would be more hassle then what it was worth and that he'd just send me the $10.

You as the shipee have to file a claim not the shipper. If i were you I would file a claim for the 100 bucks and be ahead of the game.

Actually John,
Whoever paid the freight charges is the one who must file the claim. The consignee has to note the exception or damage at the time of delivery or in the case of concealed damage as soon as possible (there is a time limit for this depending on shipping company). Unfortunately Dino was right and the hassle of filing the claim was probably more than the $10.
So other than Dino being a little late getting the money he is a man of his word and sent the money.

What the heck are you talking about? I never got my money from Dino, he won't even return an email. I will be happy to retract all my statements if Dino would just do the right thing and pay me my money, until then, DINO IS NOT A MAN OF HIS WORD!

In this reply you said he sent you the $10. That statement implies you received your money. I am sorry if I am wrong was just letting people know that about how a shipping company works.

Whoa, this is getting out of control. I sent you a money order a long time ago. As stated the 10 bucks was not worth the hassle of filing a claim with the shipping company. This is the first I have heard anything about this. I have been out of town working for the past 2 months and have not been visiting this site sence. Man if 10 bucks is gonna break ya I'll send it again. As far as E-mail is concerned how did you get my E-mail address, it is not public information, nor have I received anything from you except from this site. I see a couple of messages that were not called for over 10 dollars, I'll send your money tomorrow, because I am a man of my word.

Far enough, I retract any negative or wrong things I said about DINO1. You are correct emails are not public, I meant PM's through this board. What is public however is when the last time you visited, you had visited on several occasions when I sent you PM's, and where even on when I posted in this sec. for the first time. In any event I again publicly retract what I said.

My home page anytime someone gets on the internet is performanceyears.com racing section. so anybody who got on the internet on my computer would have showed I was logged on. Your money is on the way return receipt. Get a life, nobody ignored you, some of us have better things to do than live on the internet.

Dino has always done me right and kept his word. We swapped cars and I asked if he'd sell me back my 48's if he ever sold them. He delivered them to me in Columbus when he finally got his Kaufmanns. I don't feel that the whole story is being portrayed here. JMHO. Ron

I think that the mods need to delete this whole thread! Anyone who is just browsing through could now mistakenly think that Dino1 is not a man of his word and that is obviously not the case. I think that the OP should have been a little more patient before publicly hammering another member! IMHO.

Seriously...seems like a good guy to me.
I say leave the thread in, it shows who you can deal with and who are the whinners. I wouldn't buy or sell to guys like this or firebirdcrazy and 68coupe. You can search their names and find they whine all of the time about something.

Your right Ron, the race was definatley a good race right down to the end. But... I really want to win this one. Competition is a good thing, keeps us on our game. I have already taken one event this year on a bad tune, just got things sorted out this past week, and will be in competition this weekend. This Ol' Goat has put many a chebby and brand X on the trailer in the past year, lets hope things go as good this year as well as it did last year. By the way I red lit .001 in the race that put me out in the final round I ran. Getting down to the final 5, out of 200+ cars is a good thing!!!
