I've asked someone several times to quote an engine. My second engine from this builder. First engine I thought went well. Wasn't cheap either.

First request was about 4 weeks ago. Sent them the request three times, third time again at their request, emailed them several times to follow up. Gave them several options on ways to quote it.
Not so much as a peep from them.

If a customer tries that hard to give you an order, at least respond. If it takes you 3+ weeks to work up a quote just tell me that so I'll know.
If you're not interested let me know.

What's the deal?

The purpose of this forum is to inform other enthusiasts of both good and bad experiences with some of the different businesses available.

If you aren't going to post the name of the business, be it good or bad, then it really does absolutely no good to post here.

If you're just posting to blow off steam or vent, then why not just post in the lobby.....??

Not blowing off steam, I was giving him a chance to respond before I post since he's on this board quite a bit.

Just getting tired of waiting on Kens to respond.

I responded. Hard to quote a price when ya want to trade stuff in and then try and use all your parts. A lot easier just to quote a build new and go. Plus don't want to offend ya on a price trading in your parts. Plus back and forth e-mails with this won't work and that will require this to change. Takes up a lot of time and I am slightly busy. That and danee is only working 2hrs a day now going back to school and that means I'm doubled up on paperwork. Want a job? Pays $5.00 an hr. LOL. The reason I post from time to time is as I'm waiting on help to finish something or in between two projects I do a quick look and see on here. Don't really visit any other boards during the day. You got a responce and I have your return. Looked it over, but not using this or that later is changing the game plan slightly. But I haven't forgotten ya dude and respect your inquiry and business. But now all the work is on me. I'm now the chief cook & bottlewasher. You can call too if questions don't seem to jive or you need a response rtight away. I carry the phone with me :)

Ken.

Ok Ken. Got your reply, I'll give you some time to digest mine and get back with me.
I tried not to call, figured that would take even more of your time.

Looks like a short block may be the way to go. There's also a lot of parts interchange stuff I didn't know that muddies the water some so bare with me there.
Other issue is the PRI show coming up, like to have the engine decided so I can bring it down then. Save me some shipping.

But just an occasional "I haven't forgotten you" would have been appreciated while I wait. Didn't know you're were stretched so thin. Sorry.

And the way my works been going, I might consider it.

Ken is building a motor for me as we speak, using some of my parts I sent him. I called him several times in the last few months with quuestions and changed the built slightly a couple of times. I had no problem other than taking longer than I wished (but it alwasy does and you never have enough HP ... LOL). I think other than the initial request, phone call is much better and quicker than email. In a 5 minute call you can discuss a lot more than a half a dozen emails.
