What do you guys thing of these kit cars?
I always wanted to put a Pontiac into one of these.

A 427 would make more sense to me but anything will fit as Ive seen 392 HEMI in them.And those are huge motors.

... I always wanted to put a Pontiac into one of these...Then I'll bet you'd enjoy the article in an old Hot Rod magazine, I think it was sometime in '63. A guy out west put a Pontiac and beefed Dual-Range Hydramatic into a '55 or '56 Thunderbird. I'll try to remember to look for it.

Jack, I remember reading that one! I think it was called Bird with a Salty Tail.
(Funny, I can't remember what she wanted me to do today but I can remember that).

That was Don Francisco who put a Pontiac engine in his early Thunderbird. The engine buildup was covered in the January 1963 issue in an article titled, "Pontiac to Perfection", and the installation was covered in the February 1963 in an issue titled "New Thunder for an Old Bird."
He used a '60 block so he could bolt it up to a B&M Hydro-Stick transmission, although he apparently used a newer crank as he had to do some machining to the flywheel to fit the later crank.
Now that I think about it, this may be a good set of articles to scan for Steve Barcak's thread on parts interchangeability.

there is a T bird in Huntington Beach area nere me with a pontiac in it.Have seen it a few times,very cool.Tom
