DOES ANY 1 KNOW HOW TO INSTALL A BIG BLOCK IN A 72 F BIRD??

NEED HELP!! i have the long block and the tranny..too late guys i cant send it back. its either i install or i walk. what can i do ?? and how hard is it and what will i need as far as tools or parts, i already had big block springs installed so im almost there

Use same yr Camaro BBC mounts and exhaust, modify your gas lines and your starter wires.

I WENT TO THE BODY SHOP AGAIN AND I EVEN MEASURED AND THERE IS NO WAY THIS IS A DIRECT BOLT ON...THE OPENINGS ARE OF AND FAR FROM ONE ANOTHER ..I COMPARED MY 72 FBIRD TO A 67 BIG BLOCK IMPALA CAR WITH THE C TYPE BIG BLOCK MOUNTS

Look at the mounting holes on a Camaro. Big Blocks and Small blocks both fit the Camaro standard front clip.

The Pontiac engine is wider (I think) so the mount adapter holes will be in a different place.

The Pontiac gods are intentionally creating these problems so you won't put that Chevy motor in there!

Measure well and make them in the right place. If this minor bit of fabrication scares you maybe you should hire someone to install the motor for you.

Tighter the $$$, the more carefull you'll be.
Go to a boneyard where a gutted Camaro lay. Bring along ample tracing paper and a thick pencil like one those home builders use or maybe some artists charcoal. Cleanse the area with ample solvent. Then, fasten your tracing paper adjacent to the nearest suspension underpinning or whatever framemark you find suitable. These framemarks will be identicle to those on your Pontiac. Because, there wasn't any need to alter these in production. In fact, two framemarks will guarantee that you'll drill your holes dead nuts accurate. Be sure not to use an ordinary centerpunch, though. Borrow one of those flat punches the diameter of the hole you intend to drill. It'll have a puch point in the exact middle of the tool (I forget what you call this thing).
For improved accuracy, start with the smallest drill bit possible, work your way up in increments and don't spare on applying cutting oil

...Borrow one of those flat punches the diameter of the hole you intend to drill. It'll have a puch point in the exact middle of the tool (I forget what you call this thing)...Better yet, set your tracing paper on a wood surface and borrow a drafting compass. Adjust it to the exact radius of the hole you intend on drilling. For example, a 10 millimeter hole will need a compass setting of 5 millimeters. set your compass point at the circle traced on your paper and proceed to draw a circle. It doesn't matter where. Now, draw 2 more. Where the 3 drawn circles meet is your center point for drilling. 2 circles will do. But, we want you to draw the 3rd to build up your confidence a bit. A 4th one might even make your day.
It's all easier than it sounds
