I bought this car recently from the 2nd owner and now need to sell to buy a house.

The car is very clean inside with the seats and dash in immaculate condition. The interior is brown.

The car runs great and AC blows cold. I have not had a chance to get the cruise working yet though. Car is a driver now, but the original paint is faded and there are a couple of small rust spots on rear wheel wells where the chrome molding used to be. The Vinyl top needs to be replaced and I did not see any rot around the windows where the top has peeled back.

There are 3 of the 4 original Honeycomb wheels in the trunk, but the lady I got the car from said one was cracked so she threw it away and put on steel wheels.

I can send more pictures as needed, but have listed a few now.

I am asking $5,500 OBO.

What is a fair price for this car? I looked at the nada guides, and priced the car well below the low book value.

If I was selling that car I wouldn't ask any more than $2500-$3000.

I think the color combination (which obviously can be changed) and the market are effecting your audience. Keep trying....

Thanks guys. I guess I will hang onto it till I get what I think it is worth. I am open to offers though. I have not tried to sell it locally so I will do that and if that does not work I will part it out as the sum of the parts ought to come close to what I have it listed at.

How about $3500. This car runs very well and can be fixed up pretty easy to look nice. The interior is in great condition. I will list it on Ebay if it don't sell here. Possibly will consider offers for parts if no one wants it whole.

TTT once again. How about parts anyone? I would like to keep the car together as it is in pretty good shape, but I need to sell it.

If you part that car you will end up with about $1200-1500 and probably have to have the rest hauled off..... The only things that will probably sell are... motor/trans, seats console and the gauges if it has them. You would be better off just dropping the price until it sells. I would try putting it on ebay with a no reserve low starting price and let her rip....

BTW - That looks like a decent car and would be ashamd to part it out.

Yeah that is too bad, but the shipping or flying and driving of this car would cost way too much. Thanks for your interest.

I am dropping the price to this car down to $2,000. I am also open to parting it out if necessary. I need the car gone as I have other projects to move forward on. From what I can tell this car is all original and the motor has never been apart. Runs good and does not smoke.

I would hate to see that car get parted,i wish someone would buy that GP.Have you thought about putting some rally II's on the GP and taking more pics.I bought a '72 Lemans from a guy who couldn't sell it,i added a set of freshly painted 15x7 Rally's with Radial T/A's.I didn't get a mile up the road and had someone make me an offer on the car.

Wow, is it that good? My wife loves that car. AC work well? Good tires and brakes?
How far from Charlotte NC?

Jeesh, my flippin' AC unit in my house went out yesterday and they tell me it's going to cost me 7ooo bux to get it fixed...

Wish I could buy this car and live in it! In your driveway! With the AC blastin'!

quick67bird

I would change out the tires as they are old. The AC blows cool, but could use recharging. As for the mechanicals of the car I would have no problem driving it some distance as long as I had tools to fix any problems that may arise on a car that has not been driven much for the last couple of years.

Hold up on that parting out:eek: I just noticed that's an SJ you have so I just requested some on-line shipping quotes to FL. I'll let you know my status from there.

No problem I can wait. I need to move it, but don't really have the heart to part it out as it is a survivor car and is pretty clean for the age.

If the factory Honeycombs were on the car with a fresh set of fat white letter tires, the car would have sold a while back. Those wheel covers and white wall tires don't help the car one bit. It is a very cool car and deserves to live.

Hey Bandit - sure, just like a rental...return it in as good or better condition and a FULL tank of premium fuel  ...But hey, if that don't work out, I'm "only" 300 mi SW of ya!

Robert, thanks again for all the great comunications. I'll stay in touch. Still waiting on a driver to respond for pickup.

This is a perfect example of how it should go.
Can you tell me how much the shipping was, from where to where and by what carrier?
Would you recommend them?

Who the trucking outfit is, is kinda like who is the owner of a heavy aircraft is in the aviation business! But this is how it broke down in my case:

Broker: Daniel Terpak w/ Total Car Shipping in Miami. Great fellow to talk with. He got $200 from me by credit card after securing a driver.

Dispatched Carrier: Rotchars Auto Transport. Contact name Alex 423-443-9796 ($0)

Pickup & Delivery was by a different Alex and the truck name was Quickway, Newcastle, WA. I tried to google Quickway in Newcastle and could not find anything. But this Alex was the guy that picked up the car in WA and delivered it here to me on the same 9 car hauler and was very polite and professional. I would try and use him again. And I would try to do it direct thru Rotchars and save the $200 broker fee if possible. I paid Alex $875 in cash. This was Door to Door, Richland, WA to Crestview, FL. ( 2,600 miles ) No way could I have done it myself for $1075!

The whole process took about 12 days, four of those was waiting for a driver to "bite", and was painless for me. I was kept informed of the process as it happened. Best of all, and most important, the car arrived in the same condition it left in!!! There was a mixture of vehicles on the carrier, nice drivers (like mine), restored, late model, and wrecked!
