I am about to start on this project and wanted to see if anyone had some advice. I want to replace the 305/700r4 in this car with a pontiac 350 and a 350 turbo trans I have laying around. My biggest concern is with the motor mounts. The motor I have is a 75 Firebird 350. I was hoping that the frame mounts were the same for the 305 and 301 powered b-bodys, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Should I get frame mounts for a 301 powered b-body and use those? And are there multiple mounting holes in the frame like the G-bodies? The transmission crossmember is also another area that I will need to look at. I hope the 700r4 to 350TH swap is an easy one. My goal is to start tearing the car apart next week so I thought I would post here. I am just looking to build a cheap beater with parts that I have. Here are the parts I have to throw at it. Thank you in advance

That's a bolt in.
The frame from the Caprice you have is the same as a 77 Catalina / Bonneville. The 400 engine was an option in 77. Short of changing wiring for the Pontiac from the Chevy configuration and the A/C brackets it's a simple swap. You may have to move the crossmember forward for the TH350 and a find a longer d/shaft. If that's the case I'd look into an adapter plate to use the 700r4 if it works well.

Mike is right. Did this swap into a 79 Caprice and used motor/engine frame mounts from 77 Bonnie 400.

The TCI adapter plate is awesome. I used one on my 82 GMC when I bolted the Poncho 400 up to that chevy Turbo 350. They're cheap from summit, and beats having to hunt down a driveshaft.
