Can someone give me some suggestions on a oil pan that will fit on a 454 going in a 68 Tempes? Stock type of pan would be ok but engine is built some and I might need some extra oil capacity. suggestions on both type as long as they fit are welcome with any advantages or disadvantages.

thanks - Bob

Any stock or aftermarket pan that's made to fit a big-block '68 Chevelle will work, essentially the same chassis as your Tempest. Pans should likely be the same for any '65 -'72 big-block Chevelle.

Good chance that a '67 -'81 big-block Camaro pan would be the same, plenty of stock and aftermarket pans out there to choose from. A call to Summit Racing would probably get you what you need.

B-man is correct, any '64-'72 Chevelle BBC pan should fit. It MUST be for Chevelle, though. The Camaro, Impala and pickup used a different one. Crossmember interference is the issue to watch for. Chevelle pans are shallower "up front" to clear.

That is what I thought. The Chevelle pan has those two little indentions in it on the shallower part of the pan to fit over the crossmember and that is my biggest worry on some aftermarket pan.
