If you need a dyno session in the Los Angeles area, I just had a fine go with Harry at HK.
We broke in a new motor after a thorough recheck of the basics - including tire pressure and driveline - dumped the oil, cut the filter, refilled and went after timing and mixture. I am very happy with the performance of the new motor (Thanks to Ken Brewer at Pacific Performance), but I'm really happy with the knowledge that I know the motor doesn't leak and I have seen the oil pressure hold high at run temp and I have seen the fuel pressure at full load and I know if I advance the timing 2 degrees it's going to slow down. I know my torque peak, my optimum shift point and as a result , my optimum rear end ratio. This is a ton of stuff I don't have to do or pay attention to when I roll out at Laguna Seca.
Very valuable knowledge from a smart and dedicated guy with excellent gear - and probably cheaper and more accurate than a set of tires, fuel and a test day at the track.
