64 Grand Prix Auto console/shifter for TH400
I bought this console in 1987 from P.J. Heck, in Gallipolis Ohio, who was an expert on these cars. I bought it from him, with the understanding that it is a 1964 Grand Prix automatic console. The shifter linkage was supposedly modified to work with a TH400 automatic transmission. The rear trans mount arrangement is different from the original trans, so a plate is included with his instructions to allow the rear mount to adapt to the crossmember.
The chrome is in generally good condition, with some light pitting. It would look acceptable for a driver quality car. The ash tray & rear rectangular light housing would need to be re-chromed if you wanted them to be show quality. I cleaned it up, so it is not dirty, but it would need some paint touch up to look its best. The screws in the can are the ones he sold it to me with. I assume they all are associated withe the console & shifter in some way.
