My friend is buying a motor from a Tim Mervo from Las Vegas Nv. Does anyone have any past experience purchasing stuff from him? My friend is slightly hesitant about sending a bank wire for funds to him. I mentioned that he should overnight a bank check to the company that is picking the motor up. That way at least you verify you're getting something.

From the Clark County Assessor's records:
MERVO TIMOTHY L
LAS VEGAS NV 89108-1836
702-258-**92 current phone

He's owned the house since 1999.

His father has/had the same name and lives/lived
in Boulder City, NV.

He was mentioned in Custom Classic Trucks magazine
and the article stated that he sold a truck to a family
in England in '08 and his description was "spot on."

I live in Vegas, too, but haven't met Tim.

PM me and I can check the engine out if you want.

Do not send a bank wire...send postal money orders. Why you ask...because if the deal goes bad he can go the the Post Office for help. DO NOT SEND A BANK WIRE!!!!!

Use a US Postal Service Money Order. If something goes wrong, the Post Master General will have his inspectors get involved and sort it out for you.

Kelly,

Thanks for your responses.....I believe my friend is at ease now with the transaction. That was nice of you to offer your time.

I know nothing about this gentleman, but you should be very cautious about wire transfers, you have no recourse. I wouldn't do it.

Tim Mervo is about as good as they come! I've done business with him in the past and you will have no worries. I cannot remember if he's building a 65 or 66, but I sold him a dash for his car last year. Tell him that Jason from Texas gave him a good word.
