This motor was on the dyno yesterday built by Rick Johnson of Custom Auto Machine using my CNC Edelbrock cylinder heads. The heads flow 300cfm @.500" lift and top out at 330cfm @.800". They are standard push rod location and used a standard rocker arm set up.

Here is the info on the build.

525 ci Race Engine

KRE Iron Block
Crower standard weight 4.500" crank
Diamond Pistons 4.310" 14 to 1 compression
Scat 6.700 connecting rods
Comp cam 280 w/.725" lift
Hill Performance CNC 330cfm E-Heads
Standard 1.65 roller rockers with stud girdle
Victor intake unported w/ dominator carb
2" headers
Stefs oil pan

No reason why that combo should not make 800+ HP

The engine made 773 HP @ 6500 RPM. I had projected 800 HP. We feel if the engine had a vacuum pump, a bit of work on the intake it would push over 800 HP. The dyno that was used has had lots of Pontiac engines on it and the combinations that have made it to that track have backed up the numbers. It's going in a 1962 Tempest that weighs right around 3200lbs, the car should run high 9.30's to 9.40's.

The whole engine combination was put together in less then 4 weeks, look for a bright orange 1962 Tempest at Norwalk owned by Tom Keasler.

That's cool Calvin. Hope he has some good luck this year after last year. It's a super sharp car.

I still say with some tuning and as was mentioned the normal "accessories" it will make 800.

You can easily get 15hp extra hp with a Holley with a track calibration and the pump should be worth something.

Cool! My combo is almost identical except I'm running larger headers and a Terminator on alcohol. I'm going racing for the first time this year with my new combo and if it performs close to yours I'll be very happy. Keep us updated on the performance at the track. ... Eric.
