I saw Marty Palbykin make a pass with his pro-mod Judge last night out at SIR. It was a part pass as he had to get out of it early. Does anyone know if he's currently running a Pontiac engine or is it a BBC?

I think I read he was running a Brad Anderson motor. I believe it is hemi based. Tom Vaught would know more.

No Pontiac Engine looks Like a "BRAD Motor"! (:>)

To answer your question, he has been using Brad Anderson RACE parts for several years now. he has been in Arizona for several years now and has always run Anderson stuff while he has lived there.

We are talking Cubic Money: Billet HEMI type heads, Billet Forged blocks, State of the art intakes, etc

Thanks, guys. Good info and in less than ten minutes!! It would have taken me longer to find the car in the pits last night and then I probably wouldn't have known what I was looking at.

Didn't the Butler's run 6.20's at Norwalk with not a whole lot of !/4 mile runs on the car...............................and what about C.Geise, he has run 6.60's in his T/S "bracket car" with under 20 lb.s of boost? I'm thinking Marty has a little ways to go yet .............but I guess it's a start. Keep plugging away Marty!

I'm betting NITRO mix!!!! He's making over 2500-3000+ HP to run that fast maybe alot more. JD

Might not "LOOK" like a BRAD engine, but a Pontiac runs better than Marty's. I.e. Butlers pro mod with itty bitty E heads.

keep in mind that Marty ran 224 mph in ARIZONA. Everyone knows what the DA is in Arizona, right?

It is akin to asking an NFL player (I don't really care about football, so insert your favorite football player's name here) to breathe through a drinking straw.

Put that bugger at 1500 ft and stand back, man!!

Travis,

I have to just say what a Class act you are and how honest you are. Most people in the east don't realize how bad the DA can be out west sometimes.

I really hope to get to see you and Rodney run that bad black car someday, but all the events are so far from me. I will have to go see Curt run his turbo Pontiac out here in the NW.

DA in Norwalk was around 3000 ft. I spoke with Marty a little while ago.....the DA on his run was 5400 ft. If you can apply the power, a thousand feet will get you around a tenth or so. Typically, turbo cars wont pick up quite as much as an aspirated or a belt driven blower motor will.

I would bet a bunch of money that Marty P could run 6.0s at a reasonable DA.

Maybe faster.........

Tom V. Quote: "IF Marty had raced at Norwalk last night, the track had been properly prepared, and the car was well sorted out and on a goos tune-up I think you would have seen a 6.0xx time."

Ditto for Butler....................................but neither one did.

If it aint PONTIAC POWERED it means very little. Why all the hoopla over a car running "Other" engines?

So how much power is Martys engine making and what is the limit for reliable Pontiac power at this moment today.
He has the best looking black Judge ever.
What does Butlers engine make ?
The Dirty Bird?
Curts?
And KREs top guy. Can not remember his name at the moment. Intercooled screw blower engine.

Don't knock it if you haven't tried it, Tom. Eights feel real fast to me. I know there'll always be someone faster than me, prettier than me, richer than me and younger than me. But eights still feel fast.
