OK, I spotted a generator pully on Ebay for my car and did a buy it now. I had checked feedback proir to buying and it appeared ok.
The part arrives and it's not the same pulley that was advertised. I contact oldclassicparts55 and explain the pulley is not the one from the auction and say if they send me the right one or refund, I will still leave positive feedback. oldclassicparts55 comes back and says they will ONLY refund me if I leave positive feedback first. That's not going to happen. we go back and forth. I also send them a link to Ebay's FEEDBACK EXTORTION POLICY - http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/feedback-extortion.html
and point out:
"The seller isn't allowed to require a buyer to leave positive Feedback or specific detailed seller ratings or to revise existing Feedback in exchange for either receiving the purchased item or issuing a full or partial refund. The seller also can't offer monetary compensation, an additional item, or other goods or services not in the original listing to the buyer if they will either leave positive Feedback or specific detailed seller ratings or revise existing Feedback."
The seller finally relents and emails me stating they sent UPS return form and agrees to refund me once the part arrived back. Well, it's been just over two weeks now with no UPS return or further contact from the seller, so I'm posting here to warn you to avoid this person. While I was looking through Ebay for answers, I was pointed to this site where you can see feedback on users that Ebay doesn't show. I was not happy to find this seller has over 120 comments removed from Ebay and they also have 17 relatively recent neutral and negative feedbacks. Click on the "left by" button to see that Ebay removed many others.
It's readily apparent that oldclassicparts55 has pulled this bait and switch game on others before me. I'd have never done business with them had I known about the feedback, so BUYER BEWARE when dealing with this "person"
This is the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160453098248&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT
The pic is the pulley they sent. This has been my first bad deal on Ebay. Use that toolhaus link. It could save you from bad sellers like oldclassicparts55.
