Had Jake at Jakes Performance in DFW area of Texas "recalibrate" my 2004r for me in my '66 Tempest Custom S/W. Sent it out to him(I live in Ches Va.) Did an outstanding job, (never liked the way it had shifted from the original vendor I purchased it from). He went through with me what I wanted on several phone calls, in my case, he found I had a standard forward drum that was a ticking time bomb. He texted me photos of parts as needed. He dynos them when completed, and checks pressures while running them on the dyno. I reinstalled it last weekend, and it performs great, with no leaks, overheating or belching fluid out of the vent, even when run hard with a RA IV tuned 455 in front of it. Actually works even a little better now with some use on it. He is very knowledgeable about all late model trannys. He installed the Billet forward drum in mine, Billet anchor pin, a nice recalibrated valvebody, billet Pump rings. Tranny shifts crisp but not harsh at light throttle (the old calibration had it shifting hard even at light throttle-not pleasant after driving around town for a while. It shifts firmer at full throttle, and it doesn't downshift at an inappropriate time. Is now a pleasant replacement for the TH400 I had in there 4 years ago. Any of you looking for a nice 2004r, 4l80e, Th 350 or 400, this is a very good man to take it to.

Thanks for posting the feedback. I hadn't realized Jake was still working on 200-4R's. I'll keep him in mind for my next project as he is quite knowledgeable and has an excellent reputation.
