Getting sick of the "Great White North" weather we've been having here, lately.

Tulsa Raceway Park List's the Pontiac Nationals for Saturday May 3rd. Looking forward to that!!!

Last Years even had better attendance than previous couple of years. I pray it will increase again!!!

If you have not been to Tulsa to a race in a long time, it's now an awesome racing facility!!!.

Nothing like 20 or so years ago!!!

Bring your Pontiac...Or your Olds or Buick (didn't see to many of them last year). The older I get I appreciate other makes, just glad to see other folks (especially younger ones) interest in tinkering w/ cars...

I live in Moore, Ok. I've never been but plan on going this year. Weather permitting I plan on driving my car up there... if anybody else is near me and wants to meet and cruise their Pontiacs up there maybe we can get together and make it happen.

Also, the Coffee and Cars here in Oklahoma City for those of you that don't know, is held the first Saturday of every month from 8-11am at Northpark Mall in Okc. Just south of 122nd on May. Usually has a very good turnout.

A Canadian here, I was just in Tulsa in February. Nice looking city for sure, and I loved finally being able to go to Harbor Freights :) Wish our weather was as nice as yours.

I like the weather for the "mostly" year round cruising. I'm guessing you've never been here during tornado season. Things can get a little sketchy.

Nope, I've never set foot in OK before. I went to Tulsa, Broken Arrow and some town east of Broken arrow and then back to Tulsa. I was jealous of the weather for sure...sure beats 6 months of winter. Anyway, good luck on the cruise

Shay has his Ventura ready for the track this time, we hope :) Either way we will be out there if I am not on Chemo. Oh, and still alive ;)

Steve,
What does his Ventura look like (year, etc...) I'll pray that you are healthy, not on chemo, nor watching the weatherman tracking a tornad'er while on chemo :D.

Hope to meet you there!!!
God Bless
Jeff

Jeff

It looks like hell! No paint, but original Maroon.

I have stacked the chemo so that I should have the weekend free, he is bringing the car up here a week or two before to fine tune it. Nothing fast, but just want it to be safe.

Well, an encouraging word for those "on the fence" about coming to Tulsa, Sat.

THe weather is supposed to be in the 70's Friday, 80's on Saturday and Sunday. No sign of tornaders!!! (or rain!!!)
Depending where you drive from, Fri. and Sun would allow favorable weather to set there, and home!!!

For those of us driving a few miles from our homes it will be a great pleasure ;)

I just hope we don't break down on the way :(

I started my old TA that has been sitting out in front of the shop for the past 3 years Sunday after charging the old battery up. The front 2 tires had separated all the tread off while it was sitting so I boroowed the front tires and wheels off my wifes project 78 TA so it's first highway miles in a few years will be the 80 mile run to the track to visit with old friends and watch a little pontiaction... it may just be what I need to put boot to a$$ to get back to fixing up my old GTO's - Got a really cool 8-71/455 and a neat car to put it all in ;)

Tim, bring the LeMans for gawd sake.

OK, getting two cars ready that haven't been down the track or sitting for almost ten years was a bit for me to do in such a short time. We will be out in the morning 75%, hoping one will make a good show on the track. We have called it a night and up before the sunrise to hopefully finish.

pontiacguy

Lemans has a thrust bearing out. Buick 455 hurt some pistons. The Buick is now sober and running on 91 octane powered by a motor from the darkside and N20.

Great day other than the thrown belts on both cars and brakes and tranny completely out on the Firebird.

Me and my boys. We both threw belts and the Firebird brakes went out as I stalled at the light and rolled through for a red light on the first round; ran down the track anyway and blew the transmission out. Shay made his first runs ever and dropped 2 seconds from his first run before we called it a day. Great friends and family!

It was good to meet you as well Jeff. We ended up leaving after all my buddies got beat out because 1 of the guys wanted me to follow them in case of mechanical malfunction. I wanted to stay for the final and then head over to the mud races for a few hours but it wasn't to be...

It was good seeing both Steves again as well! Not thrashing and wrenching on something was pretty cool too and I bought a like brand new tire for the front of my TA from a vendor out there for $20 so now I need to pont up for an actual new tire to be it's mate so I can give my wife her tires and wheels back ;)

Some quick videos I took with my phone. Sorry for the quality, it was just test & tune and I couldn't zoom in to get the times but still cool. I was busy talking cars in the show car area and didn't see all the races.

Also a few pics, if I can get them to load right.

This guy got some real good pics of the show cars. About 44 pictures

Best of show went to the gold/red custom painted '65 GTO. He did all the paint work himself and a lot of the mechanicals. For example the custom fabbed intake to accept the weber carb setup on the 455. Cool guy from Oklahoma.

Chad,
I just realized who's car was in your pic's, heck it's yours...LOL
Pleasure to meet you, also. I was the one in the late Buick honking @ you on turnpike to and from Tulsa, Phil was riding w/ me and 2 others.

Did you find a machine shop that you like yet, for the stroker engine???

Lol, that's funny, small world. I think I am going to have Butler send me a "full" unassembled short block, so I can assemble it. Then sometimes I want to just buy an assembled ready to drop in motor and not wait.
