I'm offering this up for general information to those who may need a kit for a carburetor they want to rebuild. I do not claim to be a carburetor expert but have rebuilt/restored
at this point hundreds of AFBs and older Rochester two barrels, plus a smaller number of WCFBs and other makes such as Fomoco 2100/4100s, etc. I get my kits from Daytona Parts in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and have also sent them disassembled bodies/airhorns/choke bodies to chemically die-chromate etc. They also completely restore carburetors although I do not use that service. They have the factory blue prints on at least the AFBs and Rochesters (possibly the others too) and assemble their kits from those blue prints. They have a full time staff that will answer questions and take orders 8-5. The one thing you will need when dealing with them is the number of the carburetor you need a kit for, so you need to research that piece of information before calling them. Their kits are more expensive than a generic kit you will find behind the counter at NAPA, O'Reillys, or any other chain parts store but you will be getting a much better kit that will be the correct one for the carburetor you are rebuilding.

This should go without saying but there is more to rebuilding a carburetor than just taking it apart and switching out the gaskets. There are little tricks and idiosyncrasies to the things that a person learns about only by working on them, plus engineering flaws that can bite you if you don't know about them when putting the thing back together. So if you have any doubt about your ability to rebuilt your carb I would recommend forgetting about doing it yourself and instead send it to someone who does them regularly - a number of whom are mentioned all the time on these boards.
I do highly recommend the Daytona Parts kits because I've personally used hundreds of them and the people there have always been reliable and easy to deal with. I am not a part owner of the place and have no personal interest in their business dealings.
