I've seen this is listed now on the Wild Horse Pass schedule for February stating the usual stuff like the diesel drags on Friday, the Muscle Car and Nostalgia drags on Saturday, but they list Pontiac Heaven Sunday as just that and no mention of anything else.

Does any one know if Pontiac Heaven is going to have their drag racing on Sunday (or just a show)? Just looking to confirm so I can make plans.

Thanks,
Larry

From what I understand it will have the Drags, show, and autocross.

Thanks for that. I'm not much of a social media person, don't have a smart phone etc... so never got into face book or tweeting. No account so can't view anything on there.

I check in here, the Arizona car show websites, and still rely a lot on flyers as well as word of mouth from the local car gang in the area (which isn't necessarily Pontiac focused) With it only being a few weeks out I thought I'd ask.

I'm not much of a Facebook guy. I can't find any real info on there. Would anyone be will to give me the name of the host hotel, schedule, etc.
I've never been but man it's cold! Seems like a good idea right now.

Happy New Year!

I'm not a member of Facebook or a social media guy either, but you can still view Facebook pages which are public. I don't belong to Facebook, but if I click the link below for the Pontiac Heaven meet, I can view the page and the details. If you haven't tried the link yet, you should click on it for the info. Looking forward to it!

Thanks, yeah I can get to the Facebook page but I don't see anything about lodging or anything. I just see a paragraph outlining the event.

I thought Steve had kinda a flyer posted awhile back but I don't see it anymore. Hopefully Steve will see this and guide me to some more details.

Thanks again,
Murf

Here's a link to the tracks website Murf. http://www.racewildhorse.net

If you click on events, then scroll down you'll see Pontiac Heaven listed. Click that and it has a few details but wasn't enough to make me feel comfortable about Sunday. Sunday just says "20th annual Pontiac Heaven" which at the most recent event didn't include drag racing. while Friday and Saturday both mention drag racing.

That's why I asked. I like to show but also want to race, so I wanted to make my plans accordingly and make it a Saturday if I had to so I could get some racing in. If we are racing Sunday, I'm good with that.

As far as lodging goes, they have their own hotel and casino just across the road (should be able to find details in the link I sent). I'm not sure if that's the "host" hotel that I sometimes hear people mention, but it makes the most sense since it's a stone throw away. Hope that helps.

Here is the back side of the 3 day Pontiac Heaven flier. The event starts Friday morning and runs all day and night. Then, Sat 8am to about 8pm. Sunday 8am-4pm.

Friday and Saturday is for anything 1981/older for both show and drags ( Pontiacs against the world ). Fri night is open track. Sunday is Pontiac power only. Autocross Sunday only. thanks! For anyone interested in the salvage yard or Pontiac Heaven yard tours, inquire. Depending on which one, they can be avail Thus-Sat.

Here is the front of the 3 day 20th annual Pontiac Heaven weekend flyer. Special guest is HO co founder Craig Hendrickson. Make plans to attend now. We have special discounted room rates and a nice new hotel nearby! Tell them you want the "Pontiac Heaven" rate for a $40 per night discount!

Pontiac Heaven weekend is a Pontiac event weekend destination like no other. Why? Well, the immediate area is geared to tourism and there are things to do close by for the entire family. Your family will not dread going to a car thing once they know what else they can do while here. Check these out! Lots to do here in Phoenix this February.
Take a break from the dead of winter- head to Phoenix for the 20th annual Pontiac Heaven weekend!

I'm confused about the preregistration. Is this for the whole event or just for swap meet and races. Thanks.

(Is this preregistration for the whole event or just for swap meet "vendors" and "racers".)

Bringing my 71 Formula on Saturday.

Don't know if you got your question answered in time 433lemans. Unfortunately I've never done the preregistration here because there has never been an online option that I'm aware of.

But as far as entry at the event goes, I've always been charged for both days separately. When I pay for Saturday, it's never included the Sunday event too. So I would assume pre-registration is the same way.

Bringing my 71 Formula on Saturday.

Saturday is "everything" and usually a decent turn out.

I'll be there Saturday but I'm bringing my 70 Formula Sunday. Mainly because it won't be as crowded and in the past we've gotten more runs in on Sunday.

Attended Saturday activities. Car show not large but nice cars, swap meet also not real big but many decent parts available. Several cool cars at races. Looking forward to todays "Pontiac only" event.

I was there Saturday with my 71 Formula 400 that I put in the cart show. I thought it was a really good event. The half dozen or so classic fuel dragsters were very cool. A couple newer FEDs ran in the low 7'a at close to 200 MPH.

The quality was high, the car count could have been higher but let's let him grow the show. A big swap meet would be nice. I brought a big wad of cash but I didn't have anything to spend it on. I appreciated the BOP events he organized in the late 2000's and the early 10's. No one else was doing that and it gave us a place to do the BOP thing.

I didn't win anything in the car show, but I'll be back next year!
