We're about one month away from this fun event, and appears that the turnout will be quite good from Arizona and from "back East."

All types and brands of vehicles may participate, but a quick look at the pre-registered roster currently indicates that most of the participants will be driving performance-oriented Pontiacs from the 1960s through 1970s. One guy is driving a motorhome, another guy has a new Challenger, another has a Mustang, and a so forth. All are welcome!

Here in Tucson, I know of at least 11 local members who'll be headed north to meet-up with the GTOAA Street Legends group as it arrives in Flagstaff late Friday afternoon during a Pontiac/GMC cruise-in at Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers. Additional attendance from the Phoenix area should be even greater!

Events for these last three days (Fri-Sat-Sun) of the GTOAA Route 66 Street Legends Tour are being coordinated by Cactus GTOs (Phx GTOAA), Desert Renegades (Phx POCI) and Arizona Chapter POCI (Tucson).

If you are a member of one of those three clubs, you may attend the special Saturday Evening Pontiac Dinner in Kingman (free of charge) together with a buffet meal and Pontiac-themed entertainment afterwards which includes a program by GTOAA's Jeff Lovich, "Pet Peeves Live!" Presently, we're expecting about 60-80 individuals to be in attendance.

Or, you may contact me (Thom Sherwood) at 520-798-3200 in Tucson -or- Denny Deal at (623) 850-6608 in Phoenix

Get yer motor runnin' and see you there!

Reminder: The registration deadline for the Arizona portion of the Route 66 Street Legends Tour is Thursday, September 20th. Download your form and details from www.TucsonMotorama.com (http://www.tucsonmotorama.com)

We're now about 10 days away from the arrival of everyone in Flagstaff, and participation in the event is looking great! A wide variety of vehicles, most of which are clsasic Pontiacs, will be joining in.

On Saturday morning, we urge everyone to plan their travels so that they arrive at Hackberry, Arizona's famed General Store NO LATER THAN 11:30am for a group photo of classic Pontiacs and GMC Trucks.

Afterwards, we will caravan together during the remaining 20 miles towards Kingman for reserved parking near the Andy Devine Days celebration. WE MUST ARRIVE THERE AS A GROUP between Noon-12:30pm!

The Saturday Night Pontiac-themed Dinner in Kingman is also looking great. As of this writing, we have over 120 participants registered/reserving a seat for the buffet. Registered participants are to pick up their dinner tickets from their respective club contact.

The extended forecast shows nothing but sunshine predicted here in Northern AZ for the next 15 days and highs up here around 85 degrees at 5,000 feet. Will be slightly cooler in places like Flagstaff and Williams where the elevation is a touch higher.

Perfect cruising weather.

Right now at 2pm it's 90 degrees, nuttin' but sun, and 21% humidity.
