1111253 Distributor with later date code

I have a points distributor with 1111253 on it but date code is 3M5

Info says number is for a 1967 400 but date is later.
I figure it must be a service replacement.

date is right for a 67 model car

Most SR's have no stamping at all - blanks

I'm used to the first number being the year, that's why I was asking.
