74 (& up?) Adjustable Pedals

I'm trying to determine a little more about the adjustable brake/gas pedal option. I recently acquired a set from a fellow PY'er and am planning to install them on my 74 Bonneville so my 5'2" wife can drive without putting my knees into the dashboard. ;)

I have the factory brochure on them, and the writing seems to allude to the fact that 74 was the first year these were available on all the B body platforms. I have seen an old thread where someone has a 75 with the pedals as well, so we have at least a two year production availability on them.

They are a very elegant design utilizing worm gears and (essentially) a speedometer cable to turn the gears for pedal movement. The adjustablilty seems very robust as well with several pedal positions to be chosen.

A couple questions:

1. Does anyone know the last year this option was available? I would assume 75/76.

2. Does anyone know how many cars may have been equipped? I would assume a very low production number.

Any info or insight, personal experience with them, etc... would be appreciated.

I don't know anything about the option but it appears you're correct on the year - it wasn't in the 1973 accessorizer brochure but appeared in the 1974 and 1975 editions, and was listed in the 1976 general brochure. http://oldcarbrochures.org/United%20States/Pontiac/1974%20Pontiac/1974-Pontiac-Accessories-Brochure/index.html Of course they downsized the cars in 1977 so they were a totally different chassis and body.

Thanks for checking on the 76 catalogue too. I assumed they would be in there, but wasn't sure. And as you said, 77 was a whole new ballgame, and likely the end of the one piece bench seat thus negating most of the need for the adjustable pedals.

If anyone has a car with the pedals installed, I would appreciate hearing about your experience. Also, if you have any pictures of the installation, it would be helpful, though I can probably figure out the install regardless. I'm simply interested in how the factory routed a couple items.
