Spark plug gap.

I'm really disappointed in the 2 volume Pontiac service manual I bought. So far the things I need to know aren't in there. Nothing concerning windows, felts, rubber between front/rear glass(where b post would be),etc. Nothing about air cleaner "snorkel" - i have the piece missing between grill piece and cleaner. Found a Pic but not what it's called. I figured that one out. Latest disappointment- in tune up/maintenance section it doesn't even say what to gap the plugs at! Says to look at sticker on inside of hood- i don't have the sticker! I know with the HEI system it needs a bigger gap than with points but I've been reading everything from .045 to .085. Seems like .055-.060 is about right but I wanted to ask what you all set your gaps at? And any recommendations for decent service manual? Also what plugs are you using?

Anything related to the car body from the firewall/dash back will be found in the Fisher Body manual for your model year.
Any electrical items installed during the body build such as power windows or seats will be found in the FB manual.
The FB manual covers all GM models since the bodies are basically the same between makes.

The service manual covers everything else.

Original heads?

The gap should be .060" but I don't think I ever gapped them that much.
I'd start at .045" and see what it does.
That's if the plugs are not gapped bigger to begin with.
AC Plugs are R45TSX? (X is for extended gap I believe)

My 1975 Motors Repair manual says 0.060 gap for all engines used in 1975 Pontiac models.

My 75 Service Manual is buried in storage, but the data probably is in the Emissions Control chapter. Only 1 book for service manual.
