Did the 72 come with an alternator that was internally regulated. I don’t see a voltage regulator under the hood . Thanks

Being an SJ, if it came with rear defogger and AC, it would have an 80 amp alternator

Correct, #1101015 for the 80 amp.
(1100928 for 55 amp)

Thanks for the reply’s. I was under the impression that GM didn’t start internally regulated alternators until 73-74. Thanks for the info and my car has A/C no rear defrost. And power windows.

I was thinking it was 1971 when all were internally regulated?
I'm a Firebird guy and know the 1970 and newer were internally regulated.

But i'd have to look at the distributors again for the years.

Looked in SM and it looks like 1971 they are internally regulated?
