Rocky, I have another question that I know you can answer. I have a couple of different valley pans & need to know if one is better then the other for vac. & or keeping oil out of the in take through the pcv tube or what ever. I have one that has the center part that is concave by about 6"x6" square, & then I have another one that has the concave area that is about 2"x6". IS one of these better to use then the other or does it even matter .? Both are good & clean & are both painted & ready to go on, but I would like to know if either is better then the other?? I'm putting my 400 + 60 over back in my car for now until; I find out what is causing all the problems with this engine. I will then go back to the 455 + 30 over but for now I would like to know which if either valley pan is better to use. Thanks Rex.

Thanks Rocky I just didn't want to put it together & have it just fall on it's face & have no power at all. It will maybe be in the car for awhile 1-2 seasons at most while I get up the funds to find out why this block is giving me so much problem. My short block is 60 over & the rods have been shot peened & buffed & the pistons are the TRW forged ones. I know they aren't the best pistons but they worked good for me in the last build with these parts & most don't like them here, but. I've been fighting with this engine (455) for the last 4-5 years. When it runs it runs great but it keeps eating up bearings & this time it was head gaskets. I guess I'm going to have to take it to someone who is a very good shop to have the block gone through completely to see whats going on. Thanks for your help, Rex.

Rocky, I' would like a little info. I'm still having problems with my 455 so I'm going to use my 400 +60 over short block & want to know if there is going to be any problems with me using my E-heads with that combo. Again it's a 400 + 60 over & i have a set of E-heads which are the 87cc heads & need to know if I'm going to have any concerns using them with to low compression?? The bore size for this engine is the same as the 455 + 30 over & so I hope there shouldn't be any concerns there. Can you give me a heads up on this before I just waste my time & money to do this as this is going to be a temp. engine until I can get this block to a shop & have it looked at to find out whats going on with it. Thanks in advance Rex.

Hay Rocky, I know your going to have the correct anwser for me, so here goes. I have a Q-jet on my new 462 & when I hit the gas it falls right on it's face. When driveing normal it seems to run good no hesitation but when I open it up It boggs down so much it will stall if I keep my foot in it. The carb is a fresh rebuild to. Never had this happen before, Whats going on???? Rex.
