Hello 68ragtop, I see that you are very knowledgeable abou 1978 trans ams. I have a 1978 trans am with a W72 as the heads have a 4 on them proving it is a W72 car. The car is currently being restored as it sat for over 20 years and the people who owned it before were not very nice to it. I am having trouble figuring out if it is a Y81 or Y82 S.E. car because it has had a new roof put on around 30 years ago and we do not have the original build sheet. Do you know if you can tell anything about it being a S.E. Car based off of the vin or cowl tags or is there somewhere else on the car I could look?
Do you have any photos of the brake distribution valve with all the lines attached? I'm putting my 68 frame back together now and don't like the way the rear brake line hangs below the frame where it attaches to the valve.
