Ps. Timing set was standard length. My machinist just touched the block, took what he need out of the billet main caps.

    Hey Brian,
I went with the Melling select M54DS high volume, 60 psi pump. My buddy has one in a 474 (455 stroker) and it carries 70 psi cold idle and 40 psi warm with Brad Penn 20w-50w dino oil. I will be running 10w-40 VR-1 Valvoline so will probably be down 2 or 3 psi from his.
I used the Rollmaster 9 keyway timing set from Kauffman. Cam degreed within .5 a degree. Quality part. I also understand the Napa Link chain/gear set is supposed to be high quality and won't stretch.
Just waiting on the money to finish buying parts, serpentine setup, and ecu. Then I'll drop it in and see how it sounds.

    Hi,
Just wanted to say good job and I'm following since I'm planning about the same build but with a carb.

I may have missed it, but what oil pump are you running and what timing set did you use after the line bore ?

Can't wait to see it run, I'm sure you can't either.

    Good luck,

    Brian J.

Dude, just saw this message. If you still need the pic, just LMK and I'll get one to ya. Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Haven't been on here in awhile. Too many other projects, haven't been able to work on mine one bit.

Hi 2nd. I have the same GTO as you do, and I'm having a bear of a time trying to get the hoses and lines back on myh car. if you have some pics of your manifold area (without the air cleaner on) and can send them to me that would be great.

    Thanks, Rob in Nor-Cal
