That sounds like a plan. With a bit of luck I can reuse the crate from the new hood if you want to ship.

The front sheet metal is good. There were two metal plugs welded into old hood pin holes and metal finished.. There is some rust on the front crossmember that was treated and painted over. The front half of the hood sheet metal is very nice.
