You have to take a small hammer to the throttle plate shafts. Center them out. They get out of whack. That should fix your problem. Glad the engine is fine. I knew you would like it.
Don, what's up ? The 455 short block you sold me is doing fine. Only have a couple hundred miles on it as I can't get it to idle. The linkage at the end of my throttle shaft is a bit loose and I believe to be the culprit. I can wiggle it and she will idle just fine. Hit the gas pedal and it wants to idle high, like around 1100 rpm. The %^&* linkage is just crimped onto the end of the throttle shaft or some kind of weird connection. Should I just weld it tight? Throttle shaft not real loose in carb base. Or should I just replace the whole base to get a tight throttle linkage? Thanks for your opinion. - Mark Hemminger- Roanoke, Va. (Panhead) TRI POWER SET UP
I see your looking for a nice '69 lower baffle.
I am looking for a nice '68 piece.
I have a '69 that needs to be restored, which I will be doing, before I advertise/sell it.
Interested?
Don, do u know exactly what cam is in that 455 motor I just bought? I know Lunati, but that's about it. If u don't remember exactly, is the # on the end if it? Thinking I could take off timing chain cover to retrieve the #. Thoughts? Made it home !! 68 did fine!!!
