I wish I could take some pics and post but im more of a wrench turner than computer guy.
Using the top edge of my air raid filter to the carb flange or inlet neck of base is 2 1/2. That's the space before I install my new dome lid which will add 1 1/4 ,so I will end up with 3 3/4 above the carb which is a nice air pocket and hopefully straightens out the air flow to the carb. My WFO base has a total drop of 2 1/8 so this gives me about 1/2 inch + clearance with the shaker to hood.
The rubber edge material was acquired at a industrial supply house. The rubber is 1/2 wx1/4 thick with a slot opening of 1/4. It fits nice and I guess it looks like door edge guard. Hope you can come up with a solution ,there seems to be lots of ideas from this thread. if there is a possibility of getting some pics with some help I will do so.
Hello ,I have a different combo.I have a RPM with a quad and no spacer. The RPM if I can remember is 1 1/4 taller so with yours a similar setup may work.
I wanted to give you a option with the filter setup.
Formula 8 pictures really show the way we are attacking the problem.
I don't run a factory seal just a rubber channel that looks clean.
I will try to get some measurments for you so you can come up with a combo for your setup.
