Cleaned all earths and had ignition switch off, so perhaps the rod adjustment helped?

Update. Builder found a piece of casting on the...

Update. Builder found a piece of casting on the check ball. Cleaned it out, span it up and went to 60lb. Don't know how it got there, I took the new pump apart before dropping it off to him.

It's not a roller, solid flat tappet. We are hoping to be somewhere between the 290b, 510hp and my solid roller 620hp.
I'm not chasing every last hp this time, just want a low maintenance bracket...

updated engine damage

Finally got the engine out and sump off. took 1 rod bearing off and looked great, then noticed 3 bits of metal stuck to the side of the block (see pics)

turns out to be the wheel of number 4 exh...

I have just switched from the 10" continental...

I have just switched from the 10" continental 3200 to a 9.5" TSP 4800 and gone from 1.60 to 1.52 with no other changes. It put me in my torque band much quicker and has really helped.

Can I ask...
