I did mine on the cnc mill in one operation for tight parallelism. Aircraft grade aluminum raw stock and tight OD and ID... same...

Does anyone have reliable documents or information on the metallurgy of our V8 Pontiac blocks... I assume gray iron... ?

Metric 8.0 mm dowels is a size close by and worked well for me.
