I think your statement is correct based on your goals. As Tom said, the engines were "semi-externally" balanced from the factory. Meaning the balancers were neutral but the flywheels/flexplates...

All Pontiac V-8 Engines are factory Externally Balanced. You can convert them to a internal balance though by having the aftermarket flywheel internally balanced when you have the Rotating assembly...

Really the only way to document any work from Royal is if you still had the paper receipt, or a note...
