X2 on the above. I always use the cork seal on the seal with the tabs on it. Had much better results over the years with it.

Always use a cork seal and a light coat of Ultra Black. Make sure to get the right thickness gasket. The rubber seal will split and leak like crazy! Clean first with brake clean, lacquer thinner, etc.

I don’t think I would be wrong to say that 90% of use prefer to use the cork seal even when the pan we are using has the holes for the rubber seal.
