Sal did make it to the final 4, but lost.

Finals got washed out, so the 4 finalist split the purse.

Dylan must have lost in the quarter-finals.

I did find some Q-sheets. But they are full of errors. Laruen Kanuik had the highest qualifying Pontiac Stocker, with her '77 GP, which Don Himes use to race. Chad Smith was not on the list. So, he must have had problems.

In SS, Bill Kennedy had the highest qualified Pontiac. The sheet had the Sean Pickett & Sal Biondo car info all messed up. Called Sal's car a 400 powered GA, & Sean's car a 428 powered '98 Bird.

Here's a pic of Dylan Biondo with his $500 check for getting R/U in the Sat 2nd chance race.

THANKS for that info ! :)

Went back to the Class Racer FB page to get a link for that Q-sheet & found this, along with the pic below.

" “Bounty Hunter” award presented by Oakes Landscaping Service to the racers on Sunday who beat Saturday’s winner during eliminations! The winners received $200 CASH!

Stock: Dylan Biondo took out Bubba Linke rd 3..."

You can see from the Q-sheet that Bill Kennedy was #14, Sean was #18, & Sal was #26. Click on the sheet a couple of times & it gets a little bigger, so it's easier to read.

Just Thinkin

Well, I reckin I should have titled this post "Thinkin Out Loud".

Anyhow, I was just thinkin: I wonder if Dylan Biondo knows how lucky he is to be in a racing family. I mean, he has several family members with many years of serious racing experience they can share with him. And, they have several cars he can drive, & connections they could use to find other rides for him, if needed.

I had a great Dad, who helped me with most everything I wanted to do. Growing up, he taught me to drive tractors, cars, & trucks, at a VERY young age. When I got a license, he would let me use his cars & pickups whenever I wanted.

When I got old enuff to buy my own car, he co-signed the loan for me to buy my new '69 GTO. Also co-signed loans for several motorcycles, boats, trucks, & even my race car shop.

But, when it came to racing, he never went to a single race. And, I don't ever remember him helping me wrench on a single race car. He let me borrow/use any of his tools & other things he had that I needed. But, he never actually turned a wrench on one of my race cars.

He said that was because he had to wrench on all his trucks & tractors all the time, so he wasn't about to spend any of his spare time(which was VERY little) workin on a race car. He never discouraged me tho. In fact, he'd occasionally ask how we'd done at the weekend's races, and seemed pleased that we were doing well & winning lots of races.

I've often thought that maybe he didn't go to any races or help me work on the cars, just because he didn't want to interfere in that part of my life. Maybe he wanted to "give me my space". But, having inherited the job of keeping all those trucks & the business running, I can see why he would not wanna spend any time workin on my stuff.

But, although he was a great Dad, & really helped me, in lots of ways, I can't help but wonder how cool it would have been if he'd been a racer & he could have taught me, & we could have raced together, like so many of the father/son race teams I've read about.

But, I'll never know. Ya'll carry on . :)

There's a Texas double feature this week.

Qualifying for the 1st race began today.

Watched some qualifying. There were 2 Pontiac powered Stockers & 1 Super Stocker.

In Stock, Devon Dioguardi drove the Clegg '74 T/A to an 11.438, which is .712 under. Brad Koivisto drove his '74 Ventura to a best of 11.574.

In SS, J.B. Clegg drove the Clegg SS/H '73 SD455 Formy to a 9.655, which is .845 under.

I think they're supposed to start at 8 am CT.

Both Stock drivers cut real slow lights, in E-1. :(

But, they get another shot Sun.

J.B. Clegg lost in SS E-1. So, all Stock/SS Pontiac powered cars are out. :(

But again, they get another chance Sun, since this is a double race weekend.

Got an update from Friday's race. After Brad Koivisto lost E-1, he was reinstated, because his 1st round opponent had not stop at the scales, after his win.

http://classracer.com/classforum/sho...6&postcount=11

Brad won the next 2 rounds, making it down to the final 9 cars, before losing. So, instead of being a 1st round loser, he is credited with 3 round wins. Then he left too soon, in E-4.

Just watched Stock Q-1. Brad Koivisto ran an 11.334, which was .816 under.

Devon Dioguardi ran an 11.366, which was .784 under.

The H/SA index is 12.15.

In SS, J.B. Clegg ran a 9.675, which is .825 under. Anybody know the car's best ever ET, in competition, running the SD455 engine ?

They announced that they'll run the first round of Stock, today.

Devon Dioguardi & Brad Koivisto both survived the first round of Stock. So, they get to come back & race tomorrow. :)

Both Pontiac powered Stockers survived E-2.

J.B Clegg ran a 9.623, on a 9.64 dial, to win a double breakout race, in SS E-1.

The bad news is that the Pontiac Stockers had to run each other. :(

It was a heads-up H/SA race. The Ventura was quicker, with an 11.217.

The good news is that a Pontiac is going to the next round.

There are 9 Stockers left. So it'll still take 4 round wins to win the race.

The announcer said that Devon Dioguardi is John Clegg's grandson. I didn't know.

John's son J.B also got put out, in SS.

Div 3

No Pontiac winners at the div 4 Texas double.

But, there's a div 3 double this week. Should be more Pontiac powered cars at these 2 races.

Yeah, the Gators will start Fri.

No Pontiac powered Stock or SS cars on the pre-entry list. So, I reckin it's all up to you S/ST guys to represent Pontiac at this race.

Good luck to all the Pontiac powered racers this week ! :)
