That car would be more interesting to me in it's original LeMans Sport trim.

There were plenty of those plain jane GP's when I was a kid. J's with no Cordova top and the basic wheelcover with just steering, brakes and a radio. Lots of people bought fancy ones but I think they also appealed to buyers otherwise looking a regular midsized cars that wanted the look of a fancy car but couldn't swing the cost so they ordered them on the cheap.

69 GTO with a lot of options and a damaged frame. The Am/FM, wood wheel and engine/4-speed are worth where it is now. $1K NR in Missouri.

That thing is rough as a cob. I wonder how it wound up with 3.90 gearing on what appears to be a standard base GTO in other respects?

Im not sure what you mean? The base engine (350) horse was available with optional gearing up to 4.33 for only $2.11 plus mandatory options if applicable. In the case of 3.90 or 4.33 gears you had to order Safe-T-track and HD cooling.

Car is sure rough but there is something strangely compelling about a car that is so honestly original.

I'm just didn't realize that people were gearing them like that with the cams available in the base cars. Not really surprising (that I wouldn't know it) though as I'm not really a 'numbers' guy when it comes to these cars.

It’s quite uncommon, the vast majority of GTO’s were built with the standard issue gears for the engine and trans they had. In 69 manual trans cars (350 or 366 horse) came with 3.55 gears (3.23 with AC) and automatic cars had 3.36 or 3.55.

Of the cars ordered with stiffer gearing almost all are 4 speed cars. Very few automatic car were ordered with optional gears.

80 T/A in Utah at $3K NR. Turbo car with red interior WS6 4WDB. Would make a good candidate for engine swap and paint it whatever color you want.

THIS CAR BODY SHAPE IS IN MINT CONDITION ............. HAS BEEN HIT IN THE BACK QUARTER.

Almost looks like a scam to me. Terrible English. Send me $500...... I'd be thinking hard about this one unless you physically saw the car in person.

Doesn't look like a scam to me. I agree the English is terrible, but I think he means the body isn't rusted. The quarter panel dent would be a much easier fix than rusted quarters.

I bought my 75 Trans Am out of LA over 10 years ago sight unseen. It showed up at my house and cost me $1K to get it here. Not saying people don't get ripped off, but I'd probably fly out to see it before I paid for it.

I'd say more like a few decades of winters. Gotta love the steering wheel lock on a car without the engine installed.

Super sharp 74 GTO in black. Special order paint looks awesome. Reserve, so I don't know if it's a good deal, but even with the bench seat it's really cool. Also, the seller has 0 feedback so look out for a scam. In Kansas.
