Dragncar 04-15-2023 12:26 AM

Car is sick.
I like those valve covers. Anyone know where you can get some like that without seeing a loan officer ?
Interesting oil filter too.

Drag Star Le Mans 04-15-2023 03:50 AM

Damn that is nice!

johnta1 04-15-2023 06:25 AM

3X24SPD 04-15-2023 06:29 AM

Dave was still running the car yesterday afternoon when I got in at 4PM.
I did stop over and talk to Dave & Derek for a bit before we opened the gates.
Man that car just gets up and goes! Very nice!

Half-Inch Stud 04-15-2023 08:19 AM

Nice touch with the 69 Valence with the rest being 1968. Mechanically fantastic !

chiefbigb 04-15-2023 09:23 AM

Tons of hours and dollars there. I love seeing the one off parts and modern day design. Vmp is a couple hours from me. Will have to check it out. Thanks for posting this

Moroso makes valve covers that look very much like that without the breather tube of course. The heads look like Edelbrock pro-ports? Hard to tell. Car looks very nice. Looking forward to some numbers.

Thank you,
BES supplied the valve covers but I think they’re Moroso sheet aluminum. Clear view Oil filtration system with a system 1 reusable stainless filter.

Let’s just say that after the 6 full passes on the car it will run with the top dogs in pdra super street with the 28x10.5 slick.

Thank you. Yes the heads are pro ports done by BES. After testing with the 28x10.5 we’re expecting to be a front runner in the pdra ss class.

So, it now seems you have one of the latest and greatest high HP real Pontiac drag cars. Select and expensive club and like Sickgoats 69 GTO the quality and attention to detail is astounding.
Can you give us horsepower estimate ? I know you might not want to give actual numbers , just the way it goes.
Solid cast block or billet ?
What kind of ignition do you run. I do not see a distributor in stock location or up front ?
I really like the fact you are running a RAIV/PMD style head.
Pontiac Power !

Yes very expensive lol. We had it on the dyno in December it made just over 2,000hp 1500tq @ 32lbs of boost with a single 88 on a very conservative tune. It’s a ia2 aluminum block, pro port e heads, electronics are all fueltech including the ft spark with coil on plug.

It is for sure and there’s still a ton left in it! I’m very impressed with the engine from BES they did a hell of a job.

I love the sound of that, since mine is at BES right now...I'm actually going up there tomorrow, so i'll have to rub it in that a damned ole Pontiac won...

Very cool! Congratulations! Do you have a breakdown of the runs in elimination?

chiefbigb 04-24-2023 08:50 AM

That's awesome man! BES has allot of experience with high end Pontiac engines. Allot more than HP going on to get that car down the track. Quite a accomplishment

Here's the sheet for the race:

Stan Weiss 04-24-2023 01:53 PM

Are you running about 1.26 60 foot time?

Yes we still have a lot of work to do on the 60’ hopefully will get it in the mid teens soon. We showed up to the race with only 8 total passes on the car, we made a bar change In testing that it didn’t like so changed it back to what we knew would get the job done in qualifying. Radials are fast and easy These 28x10.5 slicks are slow and tricky.

72projectbird 04-24-2023 03:03 PM

Killer car, awesome fab work!

You build some awesome stuff.

BILL BOWMAN1 04-24-2023 03:34 PM

Just watched that final round pass, looked like a handful. Lots left in it for sure.

mysticmissle 04-24-2023 03:57 PM

Awesome car and debut! cant wait to see it in person.
i see on FB that you are already getting complaints about it not fitting the rules due to bore spacing?

BDHABT 04-25-2023 07:45 AM

Let us know when it will be at Lebanon Valley please!

Yes people are crying already they’re all scared of a little old Pontiac lol. We called and made sure it would fit weeks before the race. They actually had a meeting and all agreed it fit they did throw extra weight on us. In my opinion the bb n02 and pro charger combos have a huge advantage they both were faster then us. We won the semis on the tree and the pro charged nova broke at the line in the finals. We had the fastest mph but that’s what turbos do. Will do whatever it takes to keep it in the winner circle.

mysticmissle 04-25-2023 10:36 AM

you are getting the same treatment KInsler and Langer are getting with the BES power. you guys and a few others have really shown what is possible if you out your mind to it and get the right people involved in your programs

What was the reason for adding weight to you?

They had nothing to reference, It was the First time a turbo Pontiac was entered in the class. they put us at 3150 to see how it did.

Dragncar 04-26-2023 02:21 PM

All the whining and B!(ch!ng means you are doing something right. Keep it up.
Those big canted valve rat engine guys afraid of a Lil ole inline Pontiac, shaking their heads as they put their cars back on the trailer.................

BILL BOWMAN1 04-26-2023 05:42 PM

And winning with an engine that has been out of production for 44 years.

b-man 04-26-2023 06:20 PM

Holeshot win in the semis against the quicker car.

Impressive.

Congratulations on your win, that car was built to do exactly that.

RUDOLFSSON 04-27-2023 07:17 AM
