There is/was a company making a fiberglass replacement but I can't find the name. I think the company advertised in POCI's newsletter (Smoke Signals).

I had to have one sculpted by a fiberglass shop, but since then I found a source, but know of no one who has used one.
You can find the nose source by going to the web site memturbo.com and sniff around a bit, it is a guy that loves the chevy powered big canadian pontiacs but don't hold that against him!

have not seem the reproductions in person , but i have heard that they are not the best as far as fit. i would take your nose piece to a good body shop and see what they have to say. they might be able to repair it from the back side. might be easier than locating a replacement.

Does the Catalina/Ventura/Bonneville have the same nose pc?? Need one for a Catalina and have one for a Bonneville lined up. If I can't use it I will put link to the guy here.

The big cat and the bonne for 69 have the same nose piece, a 68 and 70 are both different and do not have the same nose piece.

Whenever I park somewhere with my fiberglass custom build nose I am always concerned that some cigarette smoking fat hog driving a beat up old dented up import will back into my nose!

Big Pontiacs of the late '60's and early '70's are known for the Jimmy Durante nose. I have a lead on a '69 nose. If my son doesn't want it I will let you know. Thx.

I have NO knowlege of this specific part from them. I have heard that their other parts leave a bit to be desired.

I just ordered one over the phone. Be advised that the price is $125, plus $14 shipping, as opposed to the $100 price listed on the website.

the 69 b-body site 69 B-body doesn't have much more information on the subject , but they do promise a picture in the future.

Well, here is what I received:

Notice that the part number is cast into the top OUTSIDE of the piece. I assume this is intended to force you to perform more prep work on the piece before you install it.

In one of the other pictures, notice how the two vertical edges (when installed) are not paralell. Each has a slightly different angle to it. This will need attention.

The part is fairly thin, but I think it will prove adequately durable. Since it is fiberglass it should make for a fairly straightforward repair should it become necessary in the future in the event of a minor fender bender.

I have not ventured out to the car to see how it mounts, so I cannot comment on that aspect. Perhaps one of you can confirm that these mounting points are, or are not correct?

My computer system crashed and we had to wait until after Christmas to buy a new system. I can't tell you how excited I was to logon last night and see the responses to my problem. Today, I ordered the fiberglass replacement piece from Replica Plastics. The cars is in storage during the winter months but should get a new nose job about the 1st of march. upon completion, I'll give you an updated as to problems and fit. Yey!! A big thank you for all the information that I received at this forum. Its a great service, keep up the good work.

Hey GA MAN thanks for posting the pics. The piece looks to me like a weak attempt as a replacement? It looks more like quite a project to get it mounted strong, correctly fitted and flush.
I wonder why it is not thick like an original?
At first glance it looks like it should be used as a mold for making a replacement cover?
Anyway please post after you get it installed and let us and the manufacturer know how the install went.

I dont think the thickness is much of an issue. Fiberglass technology has probably improved over the years to where the added thickness is not warranted. The piece feels "strong" enough.

My Bonnie did not have a nose on it when I got it, so I have no idea if the mounting points are correct or not. With todays wind chill of 30 below zero I was just not curious enough to go find out, either!

The 69 stock nose piece Endura rubber material is thick (about 3" deep and behind it is a metal mounting brace that the endura is poured around.
The replacement thin piece you have will need to somehow mount to the metal mounting piece but the question is how will the space between the two now be made up?
Anyway please keep us posted, a few of us will be interested to learn how you mounted your new nose piece.

I got the opportunity to see one of these installed on a car today. Me and the family went to a local Bakers drive thru. There in the parking lot was a 69 Catalina 4 door, silver/grey with tork Thrust. Looked nice and I looked at the nose and couldn't believe how nice it looked (dark but car was lit pretty well) Anyway I checked it out for a few minutes and finally found the owner of the car. He told me that it was this fiberglass piece that we are talking about. Frankly guys/gals it looks good on the car and with a little work should be fine. He did warn about the thin structure but that shouldn't be a problem unless you like to bump other cars in a parking lot. I'll be ordering mine soon!!!!!!!
