04 Barbados Blue/Black 6-speed just picked from Dallas. What a great car! If the styling was an issue the interior, fit/finish and power more than over come the sleeper look.

|

|
the dealers by me have a 3500 dollar GM rebait plus the normal wheelin and dealin that other dealers won't do, the salesman said that is why they sell em and other dealers dont
|
I got gms pricing on mine. 29k and change plus I got 3500 in rebates plus an additional 1000 for gm employee pricing.
|
Same deal, GMS, +4500, +about a grand over what I owed on my trade in. Got GTO poster, mug, chrome brochure and display tent from dealer as well.
It is simply awesome to drive. |
im taking the blue one for a ride, if they give me a good price for my truck i may drive it home
|
I got GMS pricing, less $2000 GMAC, and a club discount. got to $25,900. I also got a chrome brochure, but sounds like Humbler got the holy grail on the extras. I am jealous!

congrats!! Welcome to the club boys. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...on_biggrin.gif

Our dealer got three last month and two are gone. I stopped by to look and they were all autos. They got another black one yesterday so I'm gonna stop by to see if it's a 6 speed.
|
I have to laugh, the dealer that I bought mine off is out of stock. However one other dealer still has 4 or 5. This would be the dealer that held out on the 5000 loa the longest in my area. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...on_biggrin.gif http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...on_biggrin.gif

I'm new to this forum. I had ordered an 05 but got cold feet as I thought the potential cost differential between the 05 and 04 prices seemed to be possibly greater than six grand.
Just took delivery of an 04 red/blk 6 sp. My last GTO was a 65 owned for a while in the early 70's. I'm 57 and sold my 95 Viper a few weeks ago for the GTO. In addition to the costs, the 04 had an engine with a track record, lower compression, better MPG, and a 2 cu ft bigger trunk. The t-56 tranny is much smoother than the one in the old Viper and I suspect has the improved synchronizers that the 05's will have. So far I'm very pleased and I've owned a lot of sporty cars - from Alpha's to Z-28's. |
Welcome!

good job, there's a lot of negative thoughts about the new GTO, but in my opinion i like the subtle looks to keep away cops, and the fact that it looks nice, but then you hit the gas and show whats hiding under the exterior. i want one so bad but i just bought a 2004 ford escape wich is 3/4 paid off. a suggestion for those who want one. if your trading in, look up the blue book value of your vehicle. it should list trade in value and actual value. pick a number in between the two and keep that quote for your tradein value. then email the dealers saying you want your GTO. they will either give you a high cost and a good trade in value or they will give you a low cost and a low trade in value for your car. allways say you got a better estimate from another dealer. if you take the time you can get the low cost + the high trade in price if you are not unreasonable. i can't afford one right now, but so far i've been offered the cheaper cost(26-27,000) plus a HIGH trade in price for my vehicle. just make sure to see what you can do to make your vehicle look its best sound its best and drive straite with less mechanical problems. balance the cost of small repairs with the quality of appearence on your pre owned vehicle

Hey Paul I too am from Long Island and am thinking of 05 or 04?? Where did you get yours from ? The LS2 has a higher compression but is that bad it is the engine of the future right? The 400 HP and scoops is very hard to let go but is it really $6K more? Even as the holidays approach I would think you could still get a great deal on the 05?? Good Luck to all you New Owners I am jealous of your new toy.

I went to the pontiac dealer yesterday, and sat in the GTO. It had more then enough room in the front and the back and I'm 6'1" and 240#. The fit and finish was very nice, it didn't have the typical Gm plasticee interior. But with the LS2 being avaliable in 05 and the salasmen told me they should show up sometime in December, I'll hold off till december and take a lok at them.
I think alot of people who bash the new GTO haven't even looked at them real close, if they did they might change there minds. |
After a couple of days of owning and driving an o4 6 sp :
Car handles beautifully and engine sounds and performance remind me of a 65 Malibu SS I once owned a long time ago - 327-350 hyd lifter 4 sp The new car handles very well and hwy ride is suitable for long distance trips even if trunk space is not Rear seats are good but access is tough Checked out spare - got more old time GM flavor as I discovered one very large cap screw and a small philips head trim screw rolling around under spare The dealer threw out my (very important) "security card" which looked like nothing and was attached to a plastic bag which held the owners manual etc - now there is a "problem" getting a replacement to date. Having read stories of battery issues I decided to put mine on a trickle charger - sure enough the OEM battery took an all night charge to bring it up. Now I hope it holds it -- take note of the sight glass on the batt when cars get delivered - they are dark and not bright green - shows low voltage First time I got on the car it bogged in the top of first - I suspect I may have bumped a rev limiter - or at least I hope I did. Didn't want to get into it yet but I was provoked by a "fast n furious" rice rocket - by 2nd gear he was out of it. The o4 moves well but is really doesn't feel like quite 350 hp to me? Later Paul |
Forgot to mention final price. Sticker was 33190 final deal was 28500. and gmac financing @.9 for 36 months. Made no sense to pay cash at that rate. I think it's a great car for that price
and if the 05's are better accepted the discounts and incentives may dry up quickly. The car is understated but for older drivers like myself, that's not all bad. Paul PS - I bought my first "mid life crisis" car at 18 and God willing, I'll buy the last one at 81..... |
Hey guys... just got my 04 Blue/Blue 6 spd and Love it!!!! I wasnt impressed with the styling at first... but I love the way it looks now...
33,109 + 264 for security (which I actually think is standard, please correct me if I'm wrong) they took 3000 off sticker 3500 for the rebate and gave me $5000 grand for my 2000 mercury cougar with 71 K and a few dings and cracked bumper... so final price was $26,609 They had 8 on the lot and I still made them go and get the blue one from another dealer... It definitely helps when they know you can walk away... If anyone is still out there looking the Dealer is Otto Pontiac in Albany NY... Like I said they have 8 and they need to get rid of them... Ive been trying to take it some what easy... but this guy in an altima nd a baby shade in the rear window tried to take me off the light... I paused as he took off laughed for a half second... and then blew him away as i just went into third... LOVE this CAR!!! |
