I would like to take this opportunity to thank Frank and Bob at AllPontiac for their professional and swift transaction in their purchase of the DCI Tiger Head. The New AllPontiac Tiger Head, designed by DCI Motorsports, will revolutionize the traditional Pontiac engine allowing the traditional Pontiac racers to be able to compete with the
Chevys, Fords, and Chryslers at a national and professional level. AllPontiac and DCI Motorsports goal is to provide the Pontiac enthusiast with the absolute best quality product with an off-the-shelf, ready to ship,
product at an affordable price.
If all goes well, AllPontiac will have product on the shelf by mid-March. Dyno testing will begin by mid-January on Bob's 512 IA II engine and my 511 IA II engine. The dyno testing will be for quality and durability at this time. Bob's 512 IA engine is a big bore, shorter stroke combo and my 511 is a small bore, longer
stroke version of a simular cubic inch engine.
With this dyno information, we can determine the heads ability to resist detonation, retain valve seats, feed a longer and shorter stroke, determine how, if any, valve shrouding will effect them, and many more important things about the head.
The new AllPontiac Tiger Head by DCI offers impressive out-of-the box flow of 400+ cfm without porting. With minor bowl blending and a 2.25" intake valve, it will produce 435 cfm, and 470+ cfm is possible with a 2.300" valve.
Further port testing and development is underway and as soon as we get results, we will
post them.
Bob, Frank, and I are very excited and cannot wait for the results, as we know you are all anxiously anticipating them as well. This is a
first class group of guys, and they are willing to do what it takes to bring you a first class product. For questions, you can call Bob, Frank, or myself.

Sincerely,

Don Johnston

I am excited about these heads and look forward to the results. It seemed at one time allot of people had one part that was a good piece and you ran around in circles getting the parts needed. Will All Pontiac become the Wal-Mart of the modern day pontiac engine?Brian Ulrich

I was really excited when the heads were first advertised....

a L O N G time ago

my money is long gone on products that actually exist

if the Tiger heads ever actually come to market it will be great to have another choice.

In Real street eliminater ie. Bruce Maichle -Super stock ie . Peter Biondo -Supercar Showdown ie. Jim Mino etc. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...icon_smile.gif.

Does anyone know if these heads are PRO approved yet or are in the process of being approved???

Thanks,
Bandit Dave

BVR421 12-17-2004 01:05 PM

Ray Cox was trying to initiate a letter writing campaign to get them approved. Its in another post.

Ray Cox 12-17-2004 01:29 PM

at the moment they are not approved in pro, they are approved in the nsca for several classes

bad69bird 12-21-2004 09:50 PM

How much are the heads going to cost???

GREATGTO 12-23-2004 10:05 AM

I HEARD 7,500 COMPLETE WITH ROCKERS ???

The heads will be priced under $2,500.00 with valve seats and valve guides. Out of the box flow numbers will be around 400 plus with a 310 cc port runner. We have just cleaned up the bowel under the seat just a little bit and got 435 cfm with no problem. These heads are benign put on my 512 IA II motor and will be running it at Bill Ceralli’ S shop in just a few weeks. We will with the same cam we had from Joe Pontiacs MRE build, see what the direct change from a 343 cfm E head is. We are not looking to build a monster motor with these heads, but looking to prove out the design. Then we will build the monster motor.

It will be up to the builder of the head to choose the valves and springs that they will use on the head.

This is what has happened in the past few weeks:

J&E has come up with a piston that matches the heads combusting chamber.
Jesel has a head to make a Rocker Shaft system
T&D have a shaft system done at this time.
Heads have been cut up and the engineers are working on water passage changes that will improve flow and add more meat around the ports.
The ribs are gone on the ex. ports and the new look will be posted soon.
CNC porting fixture is in the works.
We are look at 490 cfm or more with CNC porting.

Our goal is to supply a street head and a racing head that is reasonably price that a buyer will not have to spend an arm and or leg to fix or port to make more power with less out of the pocket money. We have a head that will have a D Port that can be changed to a round port later at a very little cost. So when an owner see a need to go faster they will not have to buy a new head, but just change the ex. headers, polish the port and make more power.

We are the first to offer this kind of D port to Round port ability to make changes as the customer needs. AllPontiac.com will not sell a product that has not been tested and proven. We will keep you all posted as we make more progress in the near future.

Sounds like a plan, Bob!

seems to me that this kind of ongoing development work is what sets you guys apart from some other people who have come out with new parts over the years. it would have been easy to produce and market the head, then let others worry about pistons, rockers, CNC programs, etc. IMO this attention to detail is very impressive and much needed within our hobby.

Excellent work, Bob! http://forums.performanceyears.com/g.../icon_cool.gif

Dragncar 12-23-2004 05:12 PM

This is about the coolest freaking thing I have ever seen come out for a real Pontiac.OK,now is the time for the Big Dogs(and you know who you are) in the Pontiac world to get a hold of these things and put some Chevys back on thier trailer. By the way, what are the combustion chamber CCs.I am wondering if a guy could use them on a pump gas motor with out a big dish in the piston.I already have my rotating assembly balanced with flat tops.

Robert C. 12-23-2004 05:47 PM

I think that I heard 78cc combustion chamber number. I do know that the heads on my motor are at 48 cc. The dish piston is design to clear a 1.00 inch lift. And the compression will be in the high 14 teens. I think that the cast eagle crank won’t take the power. And we may wreck the crank and block. If that happens we will have to get a new block. Sooo what, I hope that we do. I know were we can get another one real fast.

At this time, we can't find anyone that will test these heads for us. Must be the time of year, don't ya think. We had the same problem with the block. And if you believe that I have a bridge to sell ya.

We have blocks in stock and can show you Sonic sheets before you buy a motor and give you your serial number to follow it thru production. Never before has an IA motor been there for the Pontiac hobbyist during a building season ready to ship. It’s like picking a steak at Ruth Chris.

My Christmas will be a little late if this works out.

jack gaydosh 12-23-2004 08:44 PM
