Check their feedback. I wouldn't buy anything from anyone with feedback that bad.

I wonder why eBay lets them stay as a member.

Lots of easy money to be made in CA obviously. If this keeps up I may just have to offload the one I have on order.

Easy, the dorks who actually want these cars are dumb enough to fall for this. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...n_rolleyes.gif

This guy is some kind of "broker" setting up deals with sellers to get a piece of the action. He has no idea if the cars are available at the time of auction's end. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...n_rolleyes.gif
This is as fraudulent as the "seller ended auction early" crap when they don't like the bids they are getting for their car. Try that at a real auction. That's why you pay extra for setting a reserve you dipwads! http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...s/icon_mad.gif A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable but more useful than a life spent doing nothing (G.B.Shaw). At least that's my excuse. |
what's the catch guys? I don't get it. It says the reserve is done met and barely over 10,500.
I thought these were selling for around 30,000? ALL OF MY MESSAGES ARE EDITED |

KEVGTO,
People are just bidding on the "right to buy" the car. The actual price for the car is in addition to this auction. In short words, if you were to win this auction for $12,000, you would have won the "right to buy" a GTO from a named Pontiac dealer. You would then have to pay the sticker price for the new GTO. example: $12,000 ("right to buy auction") $35,000 (sticker price on a new GTO?) ________ $47,000 (total) + taxes, tags, etc... The right to buy scheme "usually" guarantees that you will get the car without being put on waiting lists, etc... db ------------------------------------------------------------ Making a living is not the same thing as making a life!! |
There may initially be a short waiting list for that car. Why I don't know. Anybody stupid enough to pay that kind of money extra to get one of the first, is well. STUPID

thanks for the tip, I was wondering what the big deal was. At my local Pontiac dealership, he told me they was gonna get several, he already called and told me they was gonna be one in on OCT. 25th, black on black. But, wouldn't get his second until DEC. a red one with black interior. He told me we could order what we wanted, but would probaly be Jan before it arrived. I think he quoted me a 28,000 sticker price, plus your normal sellers fee's and tax and liscense. Maybe I should get one and auction it off on EBAY.. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...n_rolleyes.gif

The first shipment leaves the Dock at Adelaide Australia on Tuesday the 21st and will take four weeks to hit the docks in Tacoma WA. There will only be 460 in the first shipment.

My brother-in-law is a Pontiac dealer. He plans to keep his first one and sell the rest as the market goes. Probably near sticker at first, then below sticker as the initial newness wears off. This Ebay scam should not be allowed!!!!!
"Come on baby. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!" |
Hmmmmmmm. First, we get German Fords and Buicks (Opel); then it's Mexican Volkswagens and "American" Japanese cars. So, now we get an Australian GTO. Yeah. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...n_rolleyes.gif

First of all, 24 seems like alot, must be buying from other dealers at sticker and then selling through this auction. Why, why, why would anyone bid with this dealer? That feedback looks like a "do not do business with" poster child. I don't care how much money someone has, that IS really stupid. The only cool thing is that someone is willing to put up that kind of ging for this car.
BJ, you can use stronger terms than Dork, we can take it! You know when I said Fart I meant F%$#. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...on_biggrin.gif Tails, welcome to the "dark side," be cautious it gets rough over here... "I'd rather push a GTO than drive a Mustang" |
i don't see why anyone would pay 10.5 k more than something is worth for anything. its like scalping tickets. i sure could have a perfect chassis for my 66 for the same 10.5, and the 66 is gaining value and not losing it like the new one. (IMHO)
|
I would agree a 66 is gaining value but how is the new one losing value already?

This should be Fraud! But I guess Florida could give a hoot. Anybody to go that route must be crazy, can't see it period!!!!!!!

Hell I should be the one to talk I worked for a Ford dealed for six months and could not stand the crooked deals that went on so I left.
But I did sell the first T-Bird to a doctor that had to have it for his wife $15000.00 over Sticker + another $4700.00 in add on's. I felt like s$it, all he had to do was wait two more months and it would have been below sticker. That was the sale that broke the Camels back! And what was worse is what they would do to you on a trade in, you talk about being screwed thats where they will really get you!!!!!! Just a case where a fool has more money than brains.
Look at the PT's, Beatles, T-Birds, Cobra's, etc. All, when first introduced, sold for more than sticker. C5 included. Wait 6 months and you will be able to get one at around invoice. |
Continuation of last post:
I traded in a 95 Explorer that was loaded and it had 92000 miles on it, so the sales manager said to offer him $2500.00 for it. He bought a new Explorer for $2000.00 over invoice and let us have his trade for $2500.00, five days later his trade sold for $10300.00 in the used car lot, the customer got screwed big time......... I said that the new one was losing value because as soon as it drives off the lot it won't be worth sticker price, let alone sticker price + 10.5 k. 6 months from now there should be plenty available. however, whatever floats your boat. that person might not want to put the time and money i have into that 66 either !!!
|
Thanks for the "heads up" humbler. I figure if you only get one side of the story then you are missing out. "light side vs. dark side"

The limited numbers may keep the value high as well. Now when/if an LS6 is offered then I could see where the prices drop but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Being very optomistic here but it is possible. "I'd rather push a GTO than drive a Mustang" |
it is very rare that sticker price holds on anything. I know a guy who bought a 50th anny vette for 8 grans less the sticker and it had 256 miles on it, apparently some guy bought it and then returned it when the wife found out:-p

never, ever, no way, under any circumstance trade in your vehicle to a dealer on a new vehicle...you are being ripped off...they are not in the business of buying cars...you can get a much better deal if you sell your vehicle and take cash to the dealer to haggle with...do what I did in 88...order a special vehicle and put 500 down with a check...take contract to next dealer and ask if they can beat it by 1000 and put 500 down with a check...they say yes and you call bank and cancel first check for 20$ fee...I did this with 6 different dealers all in one afternoon before finding the bottom line price...saved 5000+ and really pissed them off when I called and canceled my order and they said you lose the 500 down and I said yea? just try and cash it
can you hear me now? is this thing on? test 1 2 1 2 |
