Congradulations to Scott Rex for running further into the 7's on Saturday. If the track was prepped better he would have been deep into the .50's.

Is it still the same basic combo as last year?
|
I think he changed the oil.
|
And cars.
|
|
Yep, with that run he went from 4th to 3rd for Quickest Naturally Aspirated Pontiac Ever. Still currently first in NA door cars and Fastest Naturally Aspirated Pontiac ever ...181mph (-might even include bonneville!)

Who's N/A in the same hp to weight is or was Quicker??
|
what ken said...who's gone quicker NA in a door car with pontiac power?
|
Congrats, Scott! http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...icon_smile.gif
Sounds like an awesome run. |
Congrads to Scott !
|
Exactly my point, Scott's about to outrun the fastest dragsters running "On Motor" too!!!!
Would be neat for a door car to hold the title of Quickest N/A Pontiac also...just under Advanced ET a bit...7.49 -Rob |
Great run, Hope to see you in the .50's soon!!! http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...on_biggrin.gif

Congrats Scott.
Good deal,,,,,,,, |
I thought his converter was loose last year?
Anyway thats flying. |
Thanks guys.

Tom V. |
Tom, 4th to 3rd fastest Pontiac "Vehicle" then states fastest "Door Car". Two different rankings.
|
Yea hard for me to clarify so everyone understands in one sentence. Rod Page and his RED held the thrid spot "quickest" with a 7.63 ET. Scott continues to hold the "Fastest" with the 181mph. It's really something look at again when the NOS, Turbos, and Superchargers are almost or just on the other side of that 200mph barrier.
Man does that car look good...even the tiny thumbnail pic! -Rob |

were you running at the grove last weekend? </div></BLOCKQUOTE> Not at the Grove, but Jack G and I will be running Top Sportsman at Atco April 8-9-10 for the NHRA spring open. Top Sportsman is new for Division 1 this year. Most guys from this area go south or west to run Top Sportsman. On a side note, I'm not trying to be on a list or be the quickest or fastest anything. Just trying to see how fast I can get a Pontiac to go for my own satisfaction. I remember over 20 years ago with my stock RA3 70 TA running 14.50 and saying "If I could get this thing to run 13's, I'd be happy." Now, if I ran 5 flat I would try to go 4.99. There's no end to it. |
Way to go Scott!!!!
Hope we have great weather at VMP and we'll see you run there in six more weeks! <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">On a side note, I'm not trying to be on a list or be the quickest or fastest anything. COngrads Scott!! Now you know what the racing addiction is all about !
|
can we see a motor picture pretty please....
|
I agree with Scott's remark,
"There's no end to it". http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...s/icon_eek.gif |
Congradulations Scott,
I must say, that is a good looking car. Believe it or not guys Scott has enough MPH to run in the 7.30's at a good track. It is very exciting to see traditional pontiacs closing in on the six second barrier normally aspirrated. Keep pushing Scott, its guys like you Bruce Michael, and all the other die hard Pontiac enthusiast's out there that inspire companies like myself, BOP, Allpontiac, etc. etc. to develop new products for the traditional Pontiac raceers. Not to mention the inspiration you give your fellow racers. Sincerely Don Johnston DCI MOTORSPORTS LLC 330-628-3354 |
Go get'em Scott. I'm just now relearning how much time & effort, not to mention the $$$ it takes. It sure is alot more then i remembered.

I like your front bling-bling wheels.I heard you got the gold off the rear wheels. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g.../icon_wink.gif
If I had couple of gold front teeth or Ray Cox's car I would have left my rear center wheels gold but thats just not me. |
That is rolling dude!!As mentioned ealrier you reset you goals once you reach them.Last year I went 9.41 and am looking to make a 8.50 pass with the new car this year. That would be on a small shot of gass.To do that on hp like this seems out of reach for me.I know this hobby takes up allot of time and money with little return in moneys form but that time slip is priceless in my book.Keep up the good work.Brian

Yes, thanks for recommending Harlow. They did a great job for a great price. The blue stripe really sets the car off good.
Ahhhh..........someday |
Scott,
Very nice car and impressive numbers for the new chassis, looking forward to seeing it soon, up close and personal. Jack, I was thinking the same thing about the stripe, must make it a little easier for Scott too having parted with the 70, out with old and in with the new. Herb |
