Very Nice Cars Guys!! I'm too ashamed to put up pics of my 69 TA up right now. Still a work in progress.

Hey Bjorn - Where's the closeup of the hotties sitting on your car??

GTOken 11-26-2005 01:22 AM

Just got done painting it myself. Took three tries and still not totally happy but tired of trying. I hope I can buff it and get that shine I think it ought to have.

I thought I'd toss this one in.

It is a former IHRA B-modified drag car. It was taken off the street and turned into a race car in 1971, and was campaigned through the late 70s. The front end is all fiberglass except for the front bumper. It only has about 30K miles on it, and is still wearing the 1971 paint. It was initially campaigned with a Ram II, 4-spd, and Dana rear. The engine was later upgraded with Ram IV heads.

The rear end was upgraded to a 9" Ford unit utilizing ladder bars with coil-overs. The engine is now a 502 Chevy, and it runs a TH400 trans with a trans-brake.

This is my '68 Firebird convertible I purchased in Feb 1978 as my first car. Since I was senior in HS my Dad couldn't believe I bought a 10 year old car with 80k miles as this is when cars begin to fall apart and I would be going away to college the following year!!!

Well now it didn't exactly look like this in '78! This photo is representative of a 1987 - 1993 frame off restification. This car has never left my possession, but many others have come and gone!!!

Here is mine, I bought it in 1987, it took about a year to strip it, redo the bodywork, and paint it. I also removed the chevy smallblock and put a 428 in it. This photo is cira 1989.

I owned the four but sold the Gold 1967 400 to fix up the red one on the end. This was the first time I tried body and paint. I installed two new quarters and it looks *****in. Matches the convertible.
