Street Car Match Race
Is there anybody that wants to match race me at Zeeks Pontiacs in the Park race? There are a bunch of loud mouths on this site with power adder street cars. I would be glad to show you my tail light. Remember, I am just a little cubic inch N/A car weighing 3200lbs. Not some great Pontiac engine builder.
|
Hmmmmmm, in the immortal words of Yosemite Sam...."Dems fightin' words, varmint!".
Can Ray Cox keep his heap together for more than one spurt down the 1320 without faltering? Can Ken Keefer ever make up his mind about what kind of race car he wants to race? And when? And with what power adder? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop? The world may never know the answers to these mind boggling questions. |
john- why don't you and bruce go at it again? your races against the king were one of the highlights of the event this year.
|
I dont think the king will be together. I beat him anyway, looking for more competition.
|
Loud Mouths.......... bwahahahahahahaha. Must not mean me, but.
Ya need Punk Money? LOL. I'm game. |
It's on then Kenny, run what ya brung and bring alot of bottles!
|

I saw John and "The King" run at VMI this year and it was a great show.
Might have to make the trip again next year if Kenny and John go at it. LOL! Tom V. |

"Street car?"
John: Since you're in Philthydelphia, your "street car" is street driven, I'll assume. That means: 1. That it passes a Pennsylvania safety inspection. At Sears Auto. Not at your buddy's, who owns a garage and who'll put a sticker on anything for a beer. Current PA inspection sticker, put on by a SEARS AUTO mechanic, or the like. Must include: Full exhaust; legal sound output. no 2 chamber Blowmasters. DOT tires w/legal tread depth legal rotor and pad thickness. steel bumpers, front and rear Real safety glass in the front, back and sides. Defroster. If the car was manufactured with a heater, the defroster is required. Functioning wipers Functioning turn signals Functioning horn Functioning brake and running lights Functioning backup lights Functioning emergency brake All factory-installed impact bars remain. Line locs are illegal on street-driven cars in PA So are locked rears. Spools are a no-no. Or, just have the car registered in Brooksville, Florida. That way, you could run: plastic doors. David's doors. plastic side glass shaved DOT tires open exhaust power steering box without a ps pump gutted front and rear bumpers No heater or defroster system spool illegal height hood scoop And still be able to look somebody in the eye, and with a staight face, say "it's a street legal car." Just like some old guy in Florida does.... |

Not claiming to be an "expert" on Pennsiltucky Vehicle Code laws but I have to agree with Scott that to have a legit street driven car there would be interesting. I went to school with a guy from Pittsburg and saw the stuff he had to do to get his beaters to pass the law so he could drive then. The body work deal was interesting too.
Tom V. |
I have a current PA inspection license. I'd be happy to clarify or even post specifics on certain areas of question...if needed. ;)
Pennsiltucky, huh? Can't say that I've heard that one. |

Yeah.
And in Paraguay, anything is street legal, too. |

|
John is sounding pretty confident there. And the underdog non pro engine builder?
My $20.00 is on John. Show me the money! |
Yee haw let the challenges start. The hair on me neck is standing erect. Gotta like the first post by John.
|
I'm your Huckleberry. Just kiddin. I lives too fa away
|
Sounds like it is shaping up to be a good show. Let the smack talk begin! So, who is the taker? Dude? Ray? Is this a true street car race?
|
Quote:
Nahhh, probably more of a street type car race. Hey John, how are BES making out with your kitty-cat heads? Damn, I wish there were three lanes at VMP. |
No need, Jack. You can race the first round winner. But that will definitely be John.
|
Oh I know John is stepping it up. Othwerwise, why the Smack talk. LOL.
With his NEW bigger engine and Tiger heads at BES waiting to see where to put the valve guides. ;) He should be flying. But it tain't over till the Fat lady sings. Hey Mis use. Why does my car have to meet standards in your state when I live, work and reside in Fla.?????? Does every car that visits that state have to pass Pa standards at the Border before it can be driven there. NOT. Funny, I thought all anyone had to have ,if pulled over, was the current registration, insurance for their state? Correct me if I'm wrong? Hey, John, hope ya pack your Lunch. Get the undercarriage fixed? Low 8's might, just might, get ya past the Dude. this year. ;) Lions, Tigers (heads) & Bears, Oh My. Let the Games Begin................................. |
No tiger heads here, they aren't allowed in my class. Just my tried and true 8 year old Wenzler series 2 heads. I'm heading down to Florida to pick up a car in 2 weeks, ya want me to stop bye and help you with your tune up??? Your going to need it! You better start figuring out where you are going to put your third system... your gonna need it.
|
Bwahahahahahahaha. Third system. LOL.
You soooooooooooooo Funny Round eye. But ya can stop bye if ya want. Even buy ya lunch. Shut up Ray. LOL. Yea........... No Steak & Shake. Won't need a 3rd system. Hope your lights get better dude. ;) |

You'd better have them re-check the laser vision surgery, because it didn't work. |
No problem with my lights. You wouldn't have problems either if you didn't have to take the motor out after every pass. So what do you get at a scrap yard for burned up pistons these days?

Breakin' em out

Yes yes! Definately better than my BS meter...but those boots look like they only go up to the hips. I think you're going to need rubber overall's by the time this thread is done.

You must have me confused with someone else. I haven't burned one down in 4 years. And only 4 pistons deals in 25 years. My problems are driveline parts with all that massive Dude horsepower. trying to get it to the ground. The current motor still has the same slugs in it I ran 3 years ago. Only 35 passes thou. Tell me when and where you seem to think I keep burning it down and constantly bring this topic up????? Brian .John ain't got nuttin. He's just putting in his X-Mas wish in early. Bwahahahahaha I'd get my money back on your Deepthroat sources. LOL. Soooooooooo, How did you finish in your series this year ?????? |

I won every ram race that I went to and finished 6th nationally in the PRO series. Where did you qualify in Orlando?

Your car is still full of vehicle code violations, even in Florida. Drive that car past a police officer sitting by the roadside lately? I thought not. |
re: PRO

Well Brian, If I can get an invite to the suite again this year I might have to make the trip just for this race.

Can you legally drive with wheelie bars on the street? Just wondering? I have not tried.
|
"Can you legally drive with wheelie bars on the street? Just wondering? I have not tried."
I don't know about legally, but I do it all the time. Never had a problem with either car they were on. |
Brian, there is something wrong with that white Firebird pictured above, the front wheels are straight up and down on the launch!
Whats up with that deal? Must be a first generation firebird flaw in the suspension design. Tom V. |
Aww Brian, probably not this year, but who knows, anythings possible. Would love to see the funnycar in action. Here's a nice pic of a nice pair of pretty quick streetcars
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...jun/langer.jpg |
How can they be street cars??? There are no forward facing hood scoops or lexan windows.
|
John, you need to get your front suspension fixed like Ray's and then you would REALLY fly!!! LOL!
Beautiful Cars! Kenny will have his hands full next year for sure. Tom V. |
