injuntom - GTOs are interesting but them Goat boys like to pay high prices for their parts thus the resto might cost me too much :-/ thanks tho hope he sells it soon.

Too bad a solid, '78 Formula wouldn't fit your bill. My Dad still has his for sale and wants to move it bad.

I know of a 1979 Trans Am 400 4-speed numbers matching car located in central Illinois. This car is in drivers condition and looks solid except for some work will be required in the lower part of the rear quaters. The car is white with a red interior. Price is $5000 but likely negotiable a bit lower (I did not work on the guy over the price myself).

There is a 71 Grand Prix on sale at a dealers lot near my house. I've looked at it briefly....looks pretty straight, but I can take some pics for you if you want.
Listed as a 400 cid, and has torque-thrusts. They are asking 9K +, but it has been on their lot for prob 2 months.

if you haven't found something yet,i have a 78 4speed being painted right now.if interested i'll let you talk to the guys doing the body work,they can tell you how nice it is.has running 350 pontiac in it now,but i have a couple 77/78 400's in the garage.it was white with a blue interior but my buddy started changing it to black,so i've found all the other parts.new paint,spoilers,detail parts,15x8 snowflakes,and complete black interior;7000.if you want one of the 400's i'll deal with you.sounds bad,but i have a garage full of 400's that i don't want.i have 14 trans am's and firebirds sitting around,some to restore,and some just for parts.give me a shout and i'll see if i can hook you up. joe

I have a 71 bird that is very clean. Solid trunk,framerails,floors,doors,fenders.
the only rust is a little bit around the quarter lips but nothing major. There is also
a little bit on the lower rear tail panel but very fixable. I was going to build a formula
455 HO car but may go a different rought. I have a 73 4 bolt 455, arp main studs,warrior
rods w/ polished side beams arp bolts,trw fordged pistons .040, rollmaster billet timing set, lunutie cam 476/488 - 232/244 @ .050 with 72 HO heads and a 71 HO intake, 800 cfm quadra jet. MSD pro billet dist,6al box,blaster 3 coil,moroso ultra pro 40 wires.400 turbo trans with a 3200 hughes converter,and a 79 disc brake rear 3:23 gears,also have a set of GM 3:73 gears,new Bf Goodrich TA tires 255/60-15 New dash,console,and other things. We sold are 67 firebird conv. It went to L.A. CA. and we bought a 71 Ventura from Chico CA. On Thanksgiving my son and I flew to chico and drove it home.It had 57,000 mile on it and we put 2000 on it in two days to get her home.
